The chariot and steed altered awfully. Great wings spread from a black horror that in no way resembled a camel, and it rushed upward into the sky."

Summoned by Natohk and commanded by the ape-demon, this black steed served the undead wizard.

I would recommend using a Nalfeshnee Demon for the ape-demon that drove the chariot and (presumbably) gibbered things at night to Natohk.

Robert E. Howard's story, "Black Colossus," was first published in Weird Tales in June of 1933. The story can also be found in the Ace/Lancer paperback "Conan the Freebooter"; the Donald M. Grant Limited Edition "Black Colossus", and the Gnome Press collection "Conan the Barbarian". Marvel Comics adapted the story into comic form in "The Savage Sword of Conan" issue 2. All of these are out of print, but are usually available on eBay.
Currently in print is the British volume "The Conan Chronicles Volume I : The People of the Black Circle" which is part of Millennium's "Fantasy Masterworks" series. ISBN: 1-85798-996-1. It is available off of Amazon.com
