Somewhat disillusioned about the possibility of avoiding supernatural obstacles to the orderly pursuit of his calling, and having made Nemedia much too hot to hold him, Conan drifts south again into Corinthia, where, in one of the small city states making up that country, he continues to occupy himself with the unlawful appropriation of private property. He is harder and more experienced, if not more given to unprofitable caution, than when he first appeared in the southern kingdoms. (see "Rogues in the House" by Robert E. Howard)
Conan, even though he possesses his
rude chivalry toward women, is still barbaric enough to drop a traitorous
girl from a balcony into a cesspool of filth.
Combat
Conan's fighting style is wild and uncouth at this period
of time.
Rage: Once per day, Conan can go into a rage and increase
his Strength and Constitution by +4, and gains a +2 morale bonus to
Will saves. He suffers a -2 penalty to AC.
Fast movement: Conan's
speed is increased by +10 feet when wearing no armor, light armor, and shields.
Sneak Attack: Conan strikes a vital spot for extra damage whenever he catches an opponent
flat footed or when he flanks an opponent.
Evasion:
If exposed to an effect that allows a Reflex save for half damage Conan
takes no damage if that save is successful.
Uncanny Dodge: Conan retains his dexterity bonus to his AC even
when caught flatfooted or surprised. He can sense danger before it even
becomes apparent.
Note: I raised Conan up in rogue because he is still concentrating on his career as a thief. This boosts his skill points and gives him some class skills in areas where he appears to have skills in the stories. He was never a pick-pocket or a trap-remover, so I did not give him skills in this area. He was quite good at the quick, sudden attack (akin to the sneak attack), so I feel rogue levels are appropriate. He is fourth level, and gained an attribute increase, so I increased his strength score.
