Wizard of the Black Ring
Conan remained about two years with the Barachans.  Used now to the tightly organized armies of the Hyborian  kingdoms, Conan found the organization too loose and anarchic to afford an opportunity to rise to leadership.  Slipping out of  a tight spot at Tortage, he found the only alternative to a cut throat was braving the Western Ocean in a leaky skiff.  When the Wastrel, the ship of the buccaneer Zaporavo, came in sight, Conan climbed aboard.

Conan killed Zaporavo and persuaded the officials at Kordava to transfer Zaporavo's priviteering license to him, where he spent about two years in this authorized piracy.

Combat
Conan's fighting style has gained his well known deadliness at this period of time.  His combat reflexes give him quite the advantage in mass battles, with up to four attacks of opportunity as soldiers pass through his threat zone.  His Great Cleave skill allows him to further wade through lesser warriors, crushing them left and right.

Rage
: Thrice per day, Conan can go into a rage and   increase his Strength and Constitution by +4, and gains a +2 morale bonus  to Will saves.  He suffers a -2 penalty to AC.

Fast movement:
Conan's speed is increased by +10 feet when wearing no armor, light armor, and shields.

Sneak Attack:
Conan strikes a vital spot for extra damage  whenever he catches an opponent flat footed or when he flanks an  opponent.

Evasion:
If exposed to an effect that allows a Reflex save  for half damage Conan takes no damage if that save is successful.

Uncanny Dodge: Conan retains his dexterity bonus to his AC even when caught flatfooted or surprised.  He can sense danger before it even becomes apparent.  Conan at this point cannot be flanked.
Notes:  L. Sprague de Camp tended to make Conan more civilized than Howard did, so for this level, based on an L. Sprague de Camp novel, I chose to move him up a level in Fighter.  I also had an ulterior motive:  I wanted the bonus feat available, so Conan could have the Spring Attack feat.  Conan is also aging, so, following the rules on aging for 3E, I decreased his dexterity and constitution, and increased his wisdom and charisma.  I had increased his constitution at the last level so that this does not affect his hitpoints or endurance, which, according to Howard, had not decreased due to age.
