Notes on The Tower of Magic: Infinite in size, the Tower is considered by many to be the source of all magic on Inzeladun. It has an infinite number of floors (no matter which two floors one chooses, there will always be at least one floor between them) and rises to an infinite height. It has existed on Inzeladun since the beginning of recorded time, although, insofar as is known, it was not activated til the end of the First Age.
The
Guardians again attempted to contact Tomodachi, the Lord of Magic, via Contact other Plane and they
succeeded. Tomodachi teleported them to
the Abyss. They arrived on a bleak
landscape, but what drew their attention was the massive edifice before them. 0.8 miles in diameter, the round tower was
massive beyond the Guardian’s ability to actually perceive. It shot into the sky as high as they could
see. The Tower had numerous ledges,
columns, doors, windows, statues and gargoyles arranged in a manner to make the
building look even more ominous and overpowering.
The
Guardians entered the Tower and walked into a two mile high arched hallway made
of glass. Behind the crystal-glass
walls were towering sheets of flame, but the Guardians could not feel any heat. They wandered down this hall for a
considerable period of time, passing door after innumerable door.
A
door opened on the side and the hall within was filled with hot flames. Feeling that it would be best to just go in,
Alrek jumped in and was engulfed in flames, followed quickly by the others. They were teleported to a large chamber that
contained large amounts of gold and treasure.
Flame pots were spouting fire and a large red dragon sat on the largest
mound of gold. Ragnar greeted the
dragon and it returned the greeting.
Ragnar said they meant him no harm and would not take anything. The dragon, who introduced himself as
Xorquarthat, said that was excellent as he did not like being harmed and he did
not like theives. They asked if they
could pass and Xorquarthat said that they may and, with his tail, opened yet
another door.
All characters were awarded 12,000 exp.
Current Events : Drychtnoth battled and defeated more and more Nyandarians. Wars in Lamapacher raged from both ends. Yam ibn Saud fought in the south and Drychtnoth fought in the north. The Lamapachans cried out for a savior, but, to date, none have answered that cry.
Notes on Tomodachi, the Lord of Magic : Tomodachi, a wu-jen from the Orient (yet is a Western man by all accounts), defeated the Thing in the Tower to become the Lord of Magic. Most recently, Tomodachi accomplished a feat unmatched in all the History of Inzeladun. He removed the Tower of Magic from its base in Orgaludh to the Outer Planes, depositing it into the Abyss, where it seems likely it will remain lost for all time. His reasons for this action are unclear. He destroyed the method of magic use established centuries before by the Archmage Grindill and weakened the power of that same mage. He also proved once and for all that the Tower was not the source of magic for Inzeladun, as had been believed for centuries, (a theory only recently debated by the mages Killren, Thigru, Thumedan, and Kherit.) Tomodachi recently underwent a massive transformation and rivals the combined might of all twelve council members in power.
Notes on Xorquarthat: A great wyrm red dragon, Xorquarthat is most famous for being the steed of Lord Komaaks in the Sixth Age. Lord Komaaks hatched the dragon from his egg and taught him most everything the young dragon needed in order to survive. Instead of Chaotic Evil, as most red dragons are, Xorquarthat was raised as Chaotic Neutral. Lord Komaaks had Xorquarthat magically aged by his henchman Troonankhset, who had an evil staff with the power to do just that. After the death of Lord Komaaks, Xorquarthat became known as the King of Red Dragons (replacing the dead Rargad). Raised as a steed, Xorquarthat was more sociable than most dragons and he found that he liked hanging around the bipedal races. During the Seventh Age, Xorquarthat decided to be the steed of Xanath Darksword, a weakling drow. Xorquarthat frustrated the silly drow to no end with his petty pranks and random outbursts of violence. When Xanath was finally killed by the paladin Gwydian in the Eighth Age, Xorquarthat again was on his own. He battled Hi-Tenno Tomodachi over the border of Indor just after Grindill closed the border. Xorquarthat was trapped in Indor, and after the battle, Tomodachi became Xorquarthat’s new rider. Xorquarthat now resides in the Tower and has his hoard transfered there.
Notes on the Golden Thunderbolt Hammers of Andar Tertictandan: These are a pair of matching Hammers of Thunderbolts, but are made of gold rather than the materials of such weapons. They were created by a pair of priestly companions in the late Third Age. One priest was a priest of Thor, the other was a priest of Zues. The two priests wielded the weapons to fight in the Giant Wars of Olorcada. When the two friends died, the hammers were stolen by theives and taken to different parts of the world to be sold seperately. In the Fourth Age, the priest Andar Tertictandan found each weapon and used them in his fight to destroy evil. Andar was part of the team of Han Dirgon, Killren, and Grindill. They were buried with Andar on Golgaryllgar when he died during the end of the Seventh Age.
