Notes on Golgaryllgar: Indor is the land of the Vikings. Traditionally protected by the Legion of Three Hundred, Indor is the home of Grindill and Adilbrand Noblesword.
The
Guardians went into some of the libraries of Catemar and discovered the order
of the Nexuses that Grindill was going to be using to complete his spell. Also in the library was a large black
monolith. This monolith was apparently
a portal because Raloth of Itsitlawikanah arrived through it.
Sir
Raloth explained that he was here to look into Grindill’s doings and he
explained the use of the monoliths, explaining that there was a monolith at
each nexus of power. Also in the
library, they discovered that Grindill used geomancers to create the nexuses in
the first place. Amren decided that
geomancers could just as well move the nexuses and hopefully destroy Grindill’s
plans. Grindill was currently using a
form of geomancy to combine at least seven of the known nexuses.
Amren
and the Couatl used the power of Yrmenfor, a Chronomancer known to Raloth, to
go back in time to learn geomancy from the original practitioners of the
ancient art. After several months in
the past, they were returned to the present after the art was learned.
The
party used the gateway to travel to Atman Tor.
They had decided that nothing could be done about Golgaryllgar. At Atman Tor they saw the encampment of
Isaxar the Vile, the new Emperor of Drychtnoth. Sir Raloth explained that he had an alliance with Isaxar and
might be able to convince the Emperor to leave the site long enough to let
Amren and Ragnar move the nexus.
Half
the party then decided to go back to Golgaryllgar and try to delay Grindill,
because it would take several days to move the Atman Tor nexus. Dovinyae, Pogo, Xhi Xhu, and Toki went to
Golgaryllgar. They found Grindill was
cutting a glyph through the rainforest, and was using a series of
psionic-empowered tapestry-maps to do so.
Dovinyae found out how to use the maps.
He concentrated on them, and then was lifted out of body into the air
where he saw the ground work superimposed with the actual glyph. He found he could mentally direct the
workers to miscut the trees, but did not see how that would help since the true
glyph would still be able to be seen by the true directors and then
corrected. He was soon discovered and
he escaped. Going back they thought
about stealing the tapestries, but thought that would bring down Grindill’s
direct wrath, so they quickly misdirected the workers, and then traded and
re-aligned the tapestries, giving a bad superimposed map. They left and returned to Atman Tor. This took two days.
At
Atman Tor, Sir Raloth went down and had an audience with Emperor Isaxar the
Vile. Isaxar, impressed with Raloth,
decided at that moment to stop building his pyramid. He lied and said he did not need the nexus and agreed to leave
the site for three days. He ordered his
troops and workers to leave.
Amren
and Ragnar built the needed Glyph and moved the Nexus out into the woods
somewhere. They then traveled, via the
monoliths, to the Tower Site and moved that Nexus to Atman Tor. Dovinyae and the others returned and they
traveled to Neria’s Castle and she agreed to guard the former Nexus of Atman
Tor. They moved the Nexus to her
castle. They estimated they had a month
or so before Grindill discovered the change in the Nexuses.
The guardians were awarded 400,000 exp.
