Her black boots, which have trod ancient kingdoms beneath their heal, scrape and spark as she walks the cosmos.  She is known as the Deliverer, the Destroyer, and she is moved by a passion far older than any world or any name... Revenge.  She is a creature of fire and shadow, blood and thunder, embodying vengeance and terror, the darkest impulses of mortal souls, but also the purgative flames of rebirth, the destruction that proceeds creation.  She is madness and inspiration.  The Nyandarians call her Nemed Hob.

Na-May Hob is the goddess of inspiration, intuition, wine, madness, invention, internal turmoil, creativity, tragedy, vengeance, prophecy, oracles, fools, and geniuses.  She is the goddess of those who dare to peer into the dark parts of their hearts.

She is associated with the wolverine, the badger, the jackal, and, especially, the hyena.  The hyena is especially beloved by Na-May because its laugh is like hers, and many of them have red fur like the hair of the goddess.  She is shown as impossibly tall, with a wild mane of red hair.  Her eyes are usually inhuman - solid red or black - and she is often shown with more than two arms.  She is also represented as a primordial ooze in more ancient texts.  The Angustians depicted her with a snake body, and sometimes with a snake head as well. Symbols for Na-May Hob are infinite, for those who worship her select a personal symbol on they day they dedicate themselves to her.

Na-May Hob is the sister of Kalendor Hob, Olanigan, and Catemar.  She is the mother of Marush Hob.  She is the daughter of Kalen Hob (Earth) and Timballayamu (Water).

Dogma: Na-May Hob teaches that her gift of wine to man must be remembered, so a follower of hers drinks deep of life, finding a sweetness of life, the joy and vibrancy in all things that most folk only find in wine. Life is filled with wonder and despair, and those who try to avoid the despair by living lives of caution miss the wonder as well. There is no joy without suffering, so savor the despair; not only is she the goddess of joy, but also the goddess of tragedy.  Further, Na-May Hob teaches that all that there is will be undone, for everything changes and everything will change.  It is sheer folly to become attached to societies, structures, or any of the works of mortals.  Those who follow Na-May Hob do not become attached to their own ideas or inventions; they happily turn them over to others who wish to waste their time building off their work.

Because nothing lasts, repetition of labor or ideas is an utter waste of time.  Only that which a person has not done is worthy of doing.  Invention and creativity are holy pursuits.   She also teaches that her voice, inspiration, is felt, not heard.  The follower of Na-May Hob heeds his intuition and gives himself over to that intuition, which many attribute as madness.  Na-May Hob also teaches that those who seek control are slaves and are deluded.  Those who impose law and structure on others are slaves to their own beliefs.  The follower of Na-May Hob actively undermine lawful beliefs, usually through mockery or humor, sometimes through debate and argument, and sometimes through violent overthrow.  The only law that is sensible is the law that all people agree to abide by.

Clergy and Temples: Na-May Hob cares about his temples and clergy only as much as it keeps her entertained.  She doesn't have interest in structures or organizations, but individuals draw her eye. Her clerics are expected to live seeking change, alteration, insight, and inspiration. Her clerics often appear as madmen. Her clerics may choose any two of the following domains: Chaos, Oracle, Inspiration, and Trickery.  She also has an order of holy warriors called the Joyous Brotherhood (or Sisterhood).   These holy warriors do not seem mad like the clerics.  Instead, they travel far and wide, becoming involved in local struggles and political matters, befriending and aiding the underdogs and those without voice.  They are trained in noticing the details and people that others ignore. Her Holy Warriors can cast from the domains of Freedom, Mind, and Emotion. The Holy Warrior class can be found in Green Ronin's "Book of the Righteous" on page 242, using Zheenkeef's holy warrior template on page 101.  Her temples are often vinyards, and they are run by the oracles, a prestige class devoted to her. (See page 102-104 of "The Book of the Righteous" for details on this prestige class, which is available to arcane or divine spellcasters.)

An invocation to Na May Hob:

Na-Ma Hob, Bringer of Dooms
Lend me your strength,
Release me, Bind me
To Chaos
Show me the Path to Oneness
Strike down upon these unbelievers
Blind them with your truth,
And bend them to your will.

Na-May Hob, Lord of Entropy,
Invest me with your wisdom,
Make me your weapon,
Let your blow be swift
And your aim be true.
Strike down these blasphemers,

Na-May Hob, I invoke thee
Na-May Hob, I invoke thee
Na-May Hob, I invoke thee
