THE SIXTH AGE began with the formation of a new constellation. The constellation was in the shape of a one-eyed Orc, called Gruumsh. It was on this night that a human captive woman gave birth to her Half-Oge son in an Ogre's lair. She named the child Maaks. At the moment of this child's birth, every king of each of the great empires of Inzeladun died. This was the birth of the prophesied Doombringer.
Bexus Maldaraxyht became the next king of Drychtnoth. A warrior known as Kanokakan usurped the vacant throne of Nyandar.
The Winged Folk attempted to return to the lives of Men, and were promptly enslaved by the Nyandarian people. They would remain slaves for over twenty years.
Thumedan apprenticed as a White Robe in the 10th year of the Age. Unable to afford entry into the established Orders, Thigru Thorkisen studied witchcraft in the 16th year of the Age.
15 years after his birth, Maaks and his mother were rescued from the Ogres.
Maaks lived with the Humans for three more years. Then, at age 18, Maaks
joined a group of Human adventurers. Three months later, Maaks changed his
name to Komaaks. Komaaks left his Human companions and went to Ingara.
Here, Komaaks became an Orcish warlord
named Kozad Jardak (Komaaks' complete history can be found under "the
Legend of Lord Komaaks"). Komaaks, a year later, met Thigru
Thorkisen at Firztrefulaswir, a mountain
city in Ingara. Komaaks paid Thigru's way into the Grey Robed Order, where
he would learn conventional magic.
Komaaks, as Kozad Jardak, burned down three Ingaran villages and attacked Ingara's mightiest regiment of knights with his Orcish warriors. After destroying Ingara's army, Komaaks impaled the survivors. He laid seige to and destroyed the walled city of Laswirlahirzivaheb. His orcs numbered at this time a mere 3000. The city had a militia of 12,000. He laid seige to the city for three days, then feigned a retreat over the Lahirziva River. The Ingaran militia followed and Komaaks used Thigru's magic and Orcish arrows to destroy the army. Komaaks and his Orcs then marched into the city and burned it to the ground. Komaaks distributed the loot amongst his soldiers, and then buried his portion for later retrieval. Komaaks and his army, which had now swelled to 7000 troops attacked Wiblenpimposwar. Orcs were pouring into Ingara, marching and riding to join with Kozad Jardak. Many cities were burned to the ground, for the Orcs let nothing lay behind them as they went to join the rumored Kozad Jardak.
Komaaks and Thigru discovered an ancient dungeon late into the 19th year. In this underground complex, Komaaks discovered Jothstra, the Drychtnothian frost brand he would wield for the rest of his life.
Thigru betrayed his old coven to the Grey Robed Assassins to prove his allegience to the Tower. However, Thigru would still make secret, occasional forays into witchcraft to supplement his learned skills. He did not entirely trust the Tower Method preached by the established Orders.
Komaaks' life was later rescued by some passing Winged Folk, influencing
his later attitudes toward the race. He then bought the suit of platemail
he would become famous for wearing before fleeing Ingara. After his flight
from Ingara, a warrior called Tregillish Mul joined Komaaks and Thigru. His
Orcish Army now stood at least 67,000 strong. He marched his army through
the wilderness that would later become Lamapacher as he journeyed north toward
Drychtnoth. He dispersed his army
at the Drychtnothian border for unknown reasons. It is said he told them
to wait for his return.
After burying a large sum of gold in the Drychtnothian desert, Komaaks and his companions joined the Drychtnothian army.
Two decades after the start of the Age, a brave and valiant warrior, Trumhygulf Aerothson, was given a son by his wife. He named the child Grimhelm.
Garnoth was born in the 20th year
of the age, the son of a forrester and an Indorian witch. Brown-eyed and
dark haired, Garnoth was raised with the knowledge of the woods and, as he
grew older, became a ranger.
In the 21st year of the age, Gwydion was born in Odhirann. When his parents' farm was destroyed by an evil cult, wolves dragged the infant Gwydion to a visiting encampment of visiting Amnish Paladins. They took the child back to Amn and reared him as a Paladin of Tyr.
After spending three years in the Drychtnothian army, Komaaks was promoted to captain and was allowed to wear his own unique set of platemail. He was then given orders to attack a border patrol from Nyandar.
When Komaaks was 23 years old, he conquered Nyandar
after releasing the Winged Folk from captivity. Two years later, he abdicated
the throne to his baby son. Komaaks had since taken a last name, Red Dragon
(or, in the Nyandarian language, Nagutsikatsenu) and had hatched a baby
Red Dragon from a stolen egg. Komaaks then picked up a priest of set,
Troonankhset, as another henchman. Thigru, during the 24th year of Komaaks'
life and during the second year of King Komaaks Red Dragon's reign, took a
small three year old Grey Elf child as an apprentice. This Elven child's
parents, former slaves of Nyandar, were never seen by Thigru, as the child
was found on Thigru's doorstep. The child was called Githoniel. (Note: Githoniel
told the tale that his Elvish parents saw the gift of magic he had and became
afraid, being very superstituous Elves, and, obeying the Elvish law of not
killing a fellow Elf abandoned Githoniel to Thigru to learn magic. This of
course is silly. Elves are magical creatures and are not prone to be afraid
of any sort of natural magical talent displayed by any children, nor would
they ever want one of their children, especially a Grey Elf, to be raised
by a human, or to learn human magic! Thigru believes that the parents were
sold and the buyer did not want the child and so abandoned it with the strangest
person he or she could think of.)
After two years of being Nyandar's king, Lord Komaaks abandoned the throne, leaving a ranger lord, Onetsimadla, as regent for his newborn son, prince NuonJardak. Before he left, he had his suit of platemail remade and enchanted. As Lord Komaaks made his way out of Nyandar, he burned down a Nyandarian village and raised an army of goblins. He and his goblins burned down yet another Nyandarian town (Katahi Onama Wayu Gesuli). Lord Komaaks became known as Saynih Kaydoos to the goblins. Lord Komaaks came across a flame tongue sword and destroyed another Nyandarian city (Sutherland). He fought several Nyandarian patrols, including an Elvish patrol and became known as Wayu Tlasinukagenodla (The Doombringer). Lord Komaaks soon attacked Drychtnoth with his army of goblins and his dragon steed, Xorquarthat. In Drychtnoth, after losing his goblin army in a swamp skirmish, Lord Komaaks met a travelling Khemian priest, who agreed to follow the Half-Ogre. In the Drychtnothian desert Lord Komaaks encountered a pair of brass dragons, who scared off the remnants of his goblin army. Lord Komaaks killed one dragon and captured the other.
Lord Komaaks passed through Drychtnoth and gathered together the Orcs that had settled the region. Again called Kozad Jardak, he raised an army nearly 80,000 strong. Lord Komaaks decided to cover Inzeladun in Orcs. He needed a capital. He sent out scouts to find possible locations.
Thigru Thorkisen got hold of an ancient prophecy and discovered Lord Komaaks was doomed to failure (insofar as his goal to make Orcs the dominate species on Inzeladun) if one of the sons of Aeroth built Silvergate. Thigru and Troonankhset set about to destroy all of the Sons of Aeroth. Grindill, the Arch Mage Sovereign, interfered and took 5 year old Grimhelm from his family, replacing him with a simulacrum. One day later, Grimhelm's former home was destroyed by Thigru. Grimhelm's father, Trumhygulf, crawled out of the destroyed house, wounded and near death. His death came by the way of Troonankhset, who slew him in cold blood.
Grindill gave the young Grimhelm to King Gorack of Northern Indor. King Gorack and Sir Adilbrand began to train him as a knight. It was around this time that Issic Sunathaeraux was born in Sigil of Marissa, a human, and Vouivre, a gold dragon, who died shortly before the birth (see The Dragon's Bride for more details).
Lord Komaaks changed his name a year later to Captain Kanih and became a pirate.
In another year, he changed his name back to Lord Komaaks Nagutsikatsenu wayu
Tlasinuka Genodla and founded the kingdom of Lamapacher
in a region of uncontrolled lands to the west of Shinto and south of Amn and
north of Orkaladh. He cleared an area 55 miles in diameter and built a fortress
on a huge outcropping of stone. The castle was dubbed Itsitlawikanah. Lord
Komaaks gathered 150 followers and patrolled his new land, keeping it safe
from monsters. Towns of Orcs popped up around Itsitlawikanah. Lord Komaaks
was joined by a Winged Folk Illusionist/warrior called Lacjasu Rual Erala.
Troonankhset the priest used a staff of withering to age Lord Komaaks' dragon,
Xorquarthat. Lord Komaaks
learned to fly the dragon and how to fight while in flight. Komaaks captured
two adult black dragons and gave one to Thigru and one to Tregillish Mul.
Lord Komaaks, a few months after Itsitlawikanah was completed, summoned his Orcish Army.
During the 29th year, Lord Komaaks, Treg, Thigru, and Troonanhkset mounted up on their beasts of flight and headed off for the possibly mythical country of Tlaltecuhtli in search of treasure. During their flight, they unintentionally discovered the location of the Elflands. Lord Komaaks terrorized the Elvish nation for about a week, destroying several Elvish towns, one Elvish city, and miles of forestland. He was given the name Shathwaretipthaf ("He who is Doom"). Two famous Elvish heroes tried to stop his rampages, but he destroyed them utterly. An Elvish child bravely stepped before the Half-Ogre and asked Lord Komaaks to please leave them alone. Komaaks left the Elves and never returned. He and his henchmen flew over the oceans and discovered the mythical realm of Tlaltecuhtli. They trekked 200 miles through swamp and rain forest to reach the ruined temple where the treasure was reputed to lay. Killing the temple guardians and a high priest of Mictlantecuhtli (Wemusa), Lord Komaaks brought out a great treasure, using it to escape the wrath of the Death God himself. Lord Komaaks and his henchmen returned to Itsitlawikanah.
The murder of the Steward of Nyandar allowed for a usurper, a wilderness warrior called Utothasatsi to take the throne of Nyandar. He banished the crown prince to a dungeon, unwilling to kill a child.
The years 32 through 34 was spent by Lord Komaaks expanding his lands of Lamapacher. He defeated a castle of cloud giants, laying claim to their territory. Lord Komaaks defeated a neighboring ranger lord, taking his lands as Lamapachan. Then he defeated the armies of an evil cavalier further north. A cavalier called Plontzkoramir joined the Half-ogre lord and helped him destroy an evil priest of Yogath Hob who had tried to build a small nation similar to Ekbatah of the old days. Lord Komaaks and his Orcs forged a nation of fear and bloodshed.
The Crown of Might was found on Inzeladun in the year 36. Lord Komaaks had spent three months ruling a tribe of natives on the Isle of Dinosaurs when he got the urge to seek the Neutral Crown of Might. One suspects either Troonanhkset or Thigru for planting the seed of this urge in Lord Komaaks' mind. Thigru had researched the probable location and felt it was held by Sep the Sapphire Dragon. Lord Komaaks and his henchmen entered Sep's lair and killed the dragon. Only Lord Komaaks and Troonanhkset survived the epic battle, and when Sep died, the entire continent shook and the sun was eclipsed in the dragon's honor, for Sep was a very ancient dragon, the oldest sapphire dragon in the world. After resurrecting his fallen comrades with a Rod of Resurrection, Troonanhkset and his lord gathered up the treasures, including the Crown of Might. Later they returned to Sep's lair and slew his mate. An evil black robed wizard also was found working there. The wizard and Lord Komaaks slew each other. When Lord Komaaks was resurrected on Ankou 12, year 36, the King of Drychtnoth died, as did the kings of Nyandar, Indor, Ingara, Tethyr, and Shinto.
After the death of King Bexus, Bexus' son took the throne of Drychtnoth as King Andoriax IV. Utothasatsi the Second became the next monarch of Nyandar. King Tomarius Allamahiny become the new ruler of Ingara.
Lord Komaaks then traveled to the Outer Planes and is reported to have invaded the Abyss with his Orcs and played a minor part in the Blood War.
Shortly after returning from his trip to the Abyss, Lord Komaaks slew the mortal incarnation of Orcus. It is unknown to this historian why Orcus was on this plane, but considers it well that he was stopped.
With a force of 800 orcs, 300 human horsemen, and 25 ogres, Lord Komaaks
captured Orkaladh. Shortly afterward Lord Komaaks and his henchmen defeated
two Cloud Dragons in their floating castle. Lord Komaaks granted the castle
to Thigru Thorkisen. Lord Komaaks then travelled with the pirate Dimwall
toward Ara'bya, the colony of Zakhara. At a stopover in Andarland, Lord Komaaks
attacked and burned down a large city. It is unknown how Dimwall had crossed
the Sea of Storms, but it is believed Dimwall's Drow first mate had a hand
in the safe crossing.
Soon, Lord Komaaks arrived in Ara'bya and destroyed the coastal city where he had docked. After destroying three more Ara'byan cities in search for magical tomes for Thigru, Thigru gained a Teleport spell and they all escaped to Lamapacher. Back in Lamapacher, Lord Komaaks found that a priest of the demon Graz'zt had begun to take over his people. Lord Komaaks killed the priest and the mortal avatar of Graz'zt himself. Lord Komaaks then made a trip to Baator in the Outer Planes (known as Hell to most of Inzeladun).
Lord Komaaks helped Han Dirgon the Paladin defeat avatars of Orcus and Demogorgan, who had joined forces to destroy the most powerful force for good on Inzeladun. Lord Komaaks then made a second visit to the Abyss on the Outer Planes, this time killing Kostchtcie the Tanar'ri Prince.
On Lord Komaaks' return to Inzeladun, he learned of Tethyr's plan to conquer Lamapacher. Troonanhkset conjured up some zombies, and, undercover of a strange fog, Lord Komaaks' zombie army attacked the main force of Tethyr. Most of Tethyr's men either died or ran away. Then Tregillish Mul led 800 of Komaaks' orcs to round up and impale the rest of those forces. Meanwhile, Sir Aelfric, the Cavalier Commander of Tethyr's Knights attempted to attack Itsitlawikanah. Lord Komaaks and his 100 Winged Folk archers were there to meet him. Lord Komaaks slew Aelfric and the Tethyrrian Knights surrendered to the Half-Ogre. Lord Komaaks then conquered Tethyr, making it part of Lamapacher.
Glauraith was born in the 27th year of the Age in Bokdithat, a village in Drychtnoth. His father was a hunter for the baron they served. In the year 37, Glauraith entered into the military as his nation required of him. He was given training in swordplay and other weapons, as well as armor use and warrior skills. He also learned to hate the military lifestyle.
In the 37th year, Grimhelm, serving
as a Knight of the Crown in Indor, killed a Beholder in the court of King
Gorack. Grimhelm soon set out on his own after that. He soon met Gunnthryd
(Paladin of Tyr), Thumedan and Ahgy
(Mage and Druid), and Alphonse the Gnome (Fighter/Illusionist). Grimhelm
returned to Indor after a year of adventures (during which he found the sword
Taragarth) and heroic good deeds and was knighted by King Gorack. Later that
year, Sir Grimhelm, after finding Noldolante (the Sword of the Silver Tree)
and the Shield of the Silver Tree, founded Silvergate. Tho'ef
the Elven Archer, rescued by Sir Grimhelm, began to travel with him just
prior to the founding of Silvergate. Grimhelm caused a new Silver Tree to
grow in the courtyard of the old castle he found Tho'ef in. A new city began
to grow around the castle. The city took the name of the nation, Silvergate,
as its own.
Lord Komaaks again took the name Kozad Jardak and attacked Ingara. He destroyed the border town of Arudumpabswir and the castle Bachmalidipulhaz. Kozad Jardak crucified all survivors of that battle. He attacked and destroyed several more Ingaran towns and armies. He was finally driven out of Ingara by Han Dirgon the Paladin. Lord Komaaks' doings at this time are vague, at best. He next appeared several months later south of Indor where he fought and killed Klorin the Green Dragon (for more details see "The Legend of Lord Komaaks" by Thigru Thorkisen). Several months later, still south of Indor, Lord Komaaks and his henchmen killed two amethyst dragons. Lord Komaaks began construction on a new castle there. The Castle was attacked by a force of barbarians and dragons (allies of the two amethyst dragons). Lord Komaaks ordered Thigru to summon Tiamat, Queen of Dragons, to the Prime Material Plane, forcing her to destroy the army.
Apparently abandoning the castle in Indor, Lord Komaaks next appeared
attacking Silvergate. He smashed Silvergate's armies and would have killed
Grimhelm and the Guardians of the Silver Tree (which now included Max,
a priest of Ra) but they called upon Ra, who saved them from Lord Komaaks'
deadly rage. Phaidon the Ranger
was born in Ingara at this time.
On returning to Lamapacher, Lord Komaaks and his henchmen destroyed a Black Robed wizardess and her five henchmen.
Klorin the Green Dragon, not as dead as previously thought, began to attack Killren's lands. Killren called upon old friends Andar the Priest and Han Dirgon the paladin, and together they all asked Lord Komaaks to help them. Klorin died when Lord Komaaks shoved Han Dirgon and his shield down Klorin's throat, blocking the chlorine gas he was about to belch out, and when, after Han's exit, Thigru and Killren annihilated him with a sphere of annihilation.
Lord Komaaks and his henchmen then attacked Geldor Dux, King of the Gold Dragons. After killing the dragon, Lord Komaaks was assaulted by a solar (angel) of Tyr. After a mighty clash, Lord Komaaks emerged victorious. Then a planetar, a lesser angel, challenged the Half-Ogre. Lord Komaaks defeated him too. Angry, Tyr's own avatar appeared and decapitated the Doombringer. Lord Komaaks died.
Troonanhkset resurrected Lord Komaaks. The rebirth of the Doombringer in Inzeladun sent forth waves of chaos over the planet, resulting in the deaths of most of the rulers of Inzeladun's empires. The throne of Drychtnoth passed over to Andoriax V. The wife of the former king Utothasatsi, Netothasena became the queen of Nyandar.
Lord Komaaks again traveled to the Isle of Dinosaurs.
Thigru, 40 years after Komaaks'
birth, discovered the location of the Codex
of Infinite Planes, and managed to gain it for himself. Lord Komaaks
first unleashed the power of the Codex on Ingara, which was still reeling
from the death of its king. Four tornadoes from the Elemental Plane of air
destroyed the capital of Ingara. Lord Komaaks banished the last of the Allamahiny
family and made himself the King of Ingara. Five Ingaran cities rebelled.
Five Ingaran cities were laid utterly to waste. Lord Komaaks had no real
interest in ruling Ingara, so Thigru and Troonanhkset set up a puppet government,
a council who would answer to them.
Sir Grimhelm and the Guardians of the Silver Tree discovered the famed cup of Al-Akbar, and the Crystal of the Ebon Flame. They also invaded Khemt and managed to establish a city based on the religion of Ra. They called this city the City of the Sun (Tema'enxay [Khemian language]).
Xanath Darksword came out from the underground lairs and cities of the Drow into the light of the surface during the 41st year of the age. He took the name Darksword because he was on a quest to find this mythical blade. He met a Half-Ogre named Grunt (real name: Eugene). Together they fought an killed three Ogres and rescued Saywen the Cleric of Poseidon. As Grunt argued with the Ogres about a share of some spoils, Xanath backstabbed one of the Ogres after sneaking in, faerie firing the others, whom Grunt killed.
Xanath, Saywen, and Grunt traveled to a lake and encountered a water wierd. After getting around the weird, Grunt dove into the lake and found an underwater, air-filled cavern. There Grunt fought a Troll and had his hand bit off. Xanath, following, found an Arrow of Troll Slaying and used it to kill the Troll. In the chest that had contained the Arrow, they found a Treasure Map.
Xanath, Saywen, and Grunt went to Ingara next. They arrived at Wiblenpim Peswar Laswir and met Ian, who shoed their steeds. Xanath visited the weapons shops and found an old beat-up two handed sword reputed to be Lord Komaaks' original blade (before he found Jothstra). Xanath stole the weapon. Guards apprehended him, but Xanath faerie fired them and frightened them. Crowds, panicked by the faerie fire (Dark Elf Magic!), knocked over a lantern and set a building on fire. Hence, the town caught on fire due to Xanath's actions and they had to take Ian with them, for he had no more home or family.
Traveling to Lamapacher to return Lord Komaaks' sword, Xanath, Saywen, Grunt, and Ian encountered Th'fa. Xanath worked leather for the Elf in order to get arrows from him. Xanath was soon chased out of town. Th'fa went with him.
Following the map gained earlier, Xanath and his companions found the lair of Ur the Red Dragon. They rode down a mountain river to get to Ur and then sent Ur to fight Lord Komaaks. Ur left and was never heard from again. Ur was killed by Lord Komaaks and his henchmen. Xanath found a chest with four locks on it. After unlocking the chest, he found magic gloves and a part of the Rod of the Wind Lords.
Still en route to Lamapacher, Xanath and his crew encountered some rather rude lizard men who were holding humanoid captives. Xanath and crew rescued a Winged Folk Illusionist named Zren'f and a Human named Garnoth Tilgarn the Ranger.
Lord Komaaks battled with the Tanar'ri
Lord Graz'zt once again. This time Graz'zt arrived with a legion of 30 demons.
This tremendous battle led to the takeover of Shinto by Lamapacher. King
Grimhelm and the Guardians of the Silver Tree attempted to stop the takeover,
but were not able to stop the Doombringer and his armies of Orcs.
Xanath and his people finally made it to Lamapacher. Xanath met Xorquarthat the Dragon, who flew them all to Itsitlawikanah, Lord Komaaks' castle. They met Thigru and then they met Lord Komaaks himself and presented him with the sword. Lord Komaaks invited Xanath to a slapping match. Later, after the meal, Lord Komaaks gave Xanath one of Thigru's apprentices, Githoniel the Elf. Thigru gave Githoniel a copy of his Fog spell on a scroll as a parting gift. Lord Komaaks gave Xanath command of 100 Orcs and sent them out on patrol. They were captured by the enemy. Nude and on wagons, the group was sold into slavery. They escaped soon afterwards and recovered their clothing and gear and killed the caravan leaders.
A week later, in another Ingaran town, Xanath and the others heard of the Vault. A vault that was thief impervious. Xanath decided to attempt to gain the treasures of the Vault. By the time they breached the vault and reached the treasure, Githoniel and Saywen had been turned to stone and smashed, and Grunt had a bath in acid, which stripped him of all of his body hair. In the Vault, among piles of ancient coins and chests of fabulous jewels, was a set of Elvish adamantium plate armor and a bastard sword of Drychtnothian make. Garnoth took the bastard sword, a weapon magically created to destroy giants. Xanath took the armor.
Angered at Xanath and the others, Grunt left the party. Returning back to the nearby city to claim the reward for breaking Vault, Xanath, Saywen, Garnoth, and Zren'f met Gwydion the Paladin, Gwydion was there to take care of a wolf problem around the town. Gwydion had a special rapport with wolves and he sent them on their way. According to legend, no wolf will ever attack Gwydion. Gwydion was accompanied by a pet timber wolf. Githoniel was turned back to flesh from stone, whereupon he reassembled Saywen and had him returned to the realm of the living.
Tiamat, still roaming Inzeladun, invaded Lamapacher, but was defeated by Lord Komaaks and his henchmen. Lord Komaaks then went to war with Cormier.
Traveling in Ingara during the 42nd year of the Age, Xanath and crew met Sir Galen of Silvergate. They entered a mysterious little town overlooked by a rather hideous castle. All the people spoke of a "kind and gracious lord" when referring to their lord and master within the castle. They then met this lord, Lord Nadam III. Gwydion was convinced that this man was evil, and probably a vampire to boot, but the others were not so convinced. Zren'f was seduced by the handsome lord and returned to her party on two occasions with vampire bites. Still, none but Gwydion was convinced. All else thought it merely an outside vampire, not Nadam himself. Finally, the group had the proof they needed. Gwydion called in his wolves and Sir Galan of Silvergate, after the others had weakened Nadam, put the ages old vampire patriarch to rest. Nadam III was dead.
Andoriax V, the king of Drychtnoth, was killed and was replaced by his uncle, who reigned as Andoriax VI.
After three months of sieges and battles, Khormyr was annexed to Lamapacher. Lord Komaaks turned his military might onto Silvergate for their attempt to help Khormyr.
Xanath, Zren'f, Garnoth, Sir Galan, Gwydion, and Saywen, following the instructions on a mysterious note, stole The Red Gem from the temple of Skoraeus Stonebones in Mount Rhot; the Holy Flail from the Temple of Yeenoghu in the forests on the border of the Darak Sea; the Golden Spear from the Temple of Ares in Arumpabswir; and they took blood from a lesser Cyclops. Due to clues found in a mysterious note written in Ingaran, Xanath and crew then headed for the Tower. Here they met and encountered Killren. Sir Galan left to return to Silvergate. En route he encountered some below ground evil that needed to be vanquished. As he did so, he fell into an underground stream. He was rescued by a seven foot tall Lizard Man named Hissoan'Rrak. Initially suspicious of the Lizard Man warrior, Sir Galan soon became good friends with the savage lizard, whom he called Hiss. Killren sent Xanath and his group to a place called The Dungeon to find another piece of the Rod of the Wind Lords. They encountered the sad ghost of a little boy who was looking for his mommy. Xanath and the others fought and defeated several mummified corpses. They found the piece of the Rod, as well as the child's body and the lifeless corpse of his mother. When they left The Dungeon, they rejoined Sir Galan and met Hiss.
Together, Xanath, Zren'f, Garnoth, Sir Galan, Hiss, Gwydion, and Saywen defeated an evil Red Dragon atop his desolate mountain. Xanath used Zren'f for the first time to do a falling backstab. Included in the mounds of treasure in the dragon's lair, they found the accursed Hand of Vecna. With the treasure, Xanath and Zren'f had the little boy and his mother (from the Dungeon) ressurected. Xanath then finished all the quests Killren sent him on and recieved further instructions from Killren on how to use the items they took to gain the Staff of Zabpichric.
Toward the end of the 42nd year of the Age, Lord Komaaks attacked Silvergate.
Upon entering the Courtyard of the Silver Tree, Lord Komaaks and his henchmen
were banished by the Silver Tree to Ara'bya.
In Ara'bya, Lord Komaaks became known as Khalimatrah and he began to terrorize
the trade routes of Ara'bya. Troonankhset left Khalimatrah's employ and went
to his homeland, Khemt. With the absence of Lord Komaaks, Lamapacher broke
into small pieces held by local warlords.
When Glauraith was sixteen (year 43) he left the military - without their approval - when his sister died. By the time he made it back to his village, his whole family was dead of a mysterious illness. When his dead sister came for him, he figured out she was a vampire real fast. A wandering ranger rescued him and chased off the vampiress. Together they tracked and destroyed her, as well as making sure that the rest of his family did not rise again as the undead. The pair began to track the vampire that killed his sister, Thaxos.
Thaxos evaded Glauraith for two years, fleeing into Odhirann, then Nyandar, then back into Drychtnoth. Thaxos killed Glauraith's mentor, but Glauraith had found him and destroyed him. Now a full-fledged crypt ranger, Glauraith heard of a ghost haunting a village in western Drychtnoth. Glauraith discovered that the spirit wanted a certain item buried with him. Glauraith buried the item and put the spectre to rest.
King Grimhelm married a pretty young warrioress named Goldfled in a huge and magnificent wedding ceremony that, according to popular folklore, included several divinities on its guestlist.
Xanath, Zren'f, Garnoth, Sir Galan, Hiss, Gwydion, and Saywen traveled to Silvergate and visited Sir Galan's family castle. They put the Hand of Vecna in Sir Galan's family vault. Githoniel received from the vault as a gift from Sir Galan all the spells commonly known to mages up to the Fourth Spell Rank (as Mages rank their spells). Xanath, Zren'f, Garnoth, Gwydion, and Saywen departed from Silvergate (just after the first of the 43rd year of the Age) to act upon Killren's final instructions to gain the powerful Staff of the Magi of Zabpichric.
Grimhelm and the Guardians of the Silver Tree traveled to Khemt to destroy one of the most evil men they had ever had the misfortune to encounter. In Khemt they fought Troonankhset, High Priest of Set. Troonankhset fought the Guardians one by one. He killed Ahgy the Druid, and Thumedan the Mage, and Max the Priest of Ra. King Grimhelm took the stage next. On the verge of death, Grimhelm dealt Troonankhset a mighty blow and Troonankhset was turned into a statue of inanimate silver.
Xanath, Zren'f, Garnoth, Gwydion, Githoniel, and Saywen met Abserokee, a barbarian Bard in quest of items for his sacred bundle. Together, they fought and killed a Greater Basilisk as they approached the mountain where the legendary Staff of the Magi was supposed to be kept. They defeated a group of Stone Giants (much to Garnoth's pleasure) and gained the Staff. Xanath found a magical sword he dubbed the "Hello" sword.
In Ara'bya, Khalimatrah united three nomad tribes into one nearly invincible band of brigands. The Sultan of Ara'bya offered huge rewards for Khalimatrah's head, but none could catch the Half-Ogre warlord.
Xanath, Zren'f, Garnoth, Githoniel, Abserokee, Gwydion, and Saywen went after another piece of the Rod of the Wind Lords after gaining the Staff of the Magi. They met Sir Adilbrand, Duke of Kalen, on his impressive Drakkar and joined him. A Dragonturtle attacked the ship. Gwydion killed it single handedly. Upon gaining the next piece of the Rod, Jergal Zadh, a major Demon (or a minor godling, depending on your point of view), attacked them. All but Xanath and Githoniel (who had refused to join with the others in their explorations) were soul-trapped by the fire-demon. Xanath bargained with Jergal Zadh for the release of his companions in return for a summoning to the prime material plane. Zadh agreed. When the companions were released, they attacked. Abserokee was killed in a psionic battle with the demon prince. Everyone else escaped alive. Sir Adilbrand Noblesword took Xanath, Zren'f, Garnoth, Abserokee, Githoniel, Gwydion, and Saywen to Grindill the Arch Mage Sovereign. Abserokee was resurrected. Grindill gave to them all rings of underwater action and breathing. Grindill also gave them the power to impart all of their psionic gifts to Abserokee. Grindill then sent them all to Jergal Zadh's demonic plane of existence. In a terrible duel that left all involved nearly dead, Jergal Zadh was apparently killed by Abserokee. All were returned to Sir Adilbrand's drakkar. On board Sir Adilbrand's drakkar, Xanath, Githoniel, Zren'f, Garnoth, Abserokee, Gwydion, and Saywen discovered the underwater ruins of Drolrat, an Indorian city of the Fourth Age that had been dumped into the sea during the Cataclysm. In the underwater city, they discovered and fought both Sahuagin and Ixitxachtl. Xanath discovered a weapons shop ran by an old Sahuagin and found the sword Cinneroth. He bought Cinneroth for 20,000 silver pieces. Abserokee took out all the other weapons and started a civil war between the Sahuagin and the Ixitxachtl.
Xanath, Zren'f, Garnoth, Githoniel, Abserokee, Gwydion, and Saywen departed
from Sir Adilbrand's company. They encountered a Coatl who took them to the
jungles of Tlaltecuhtli. Xanath, Zren'f, Githoniel, Garnoth, Abserokee, Gwydion,
and Saywen encountered a bunch of cliff dwellers and dealt with them (one
of them fell in love with Abserokee). They fought dinosaurs in the jungles,
and Abserokee eventually set himself up as a god to the primitives native
to these jungles. They fought some apes in these jungles and found lost books
of forgotten magical lore. Abserokee got another spirit bag (sacred bundle).
Eventually, the Couatl sent them back home. Abserokee departed from Xanath's
company.
Four months after their return, Xanath made his way back to Ingara and had several run-ins with a Titan. The Titan was soon killed by Cinneroth. Githoniel took on Kidren as an apprentice. Garnoth departed from Xanath's company .
On Odan 15, 43rd year, the Holy Day of the Silver Tree, Grimhelm's first child, a son, was born.
At the end of the 43rd year, Khalimatrah's brigands were caught in a trap sprung by the Ara'byan army. The nomads were slain and Khalimatrah, Lord Mul, and Thigru were captured. They escaped soon afterwards and fled to the Orient.
The Council of Ingara issued a warrant for Xanath's arrest in the month of Xaul during the 44th year. Xanath resolved the situation, discovering that the Titan wasn't as dead as previously thought and had engineered the whole situation. Cinneroth again was instrumental in the Titan's death.
Xanath, Zren'f, Githoniel, Gwydion, and Saywen discovered an old Wizard's tower. They decided to live there. Xanath was made a lord and was given the lands surrounding that tower by the Government of Ingara as a barony. Garnoth returned for a short time.
Traveling across Ingara, Xanath Darksword encountered a town that had sprung up around a sitting Elf. This Elf had been sitting for as long as anyone in the town could remember. Xanath, Githoniel, and Zren'f woke the Elf and found him to be quite friendly. His name was Sha'a. Xanath built Tintagel and Castle Darksword. Sha'a became his chief steward and helped to oversee the construction.
Seven months after entering the Oriental Lands, Lord Komaaks (having studied new techniques of fighting and swordplay) and his henchmen left Inzeladun all together, heading for other continents on the planet.
Xanath discovered the Labs of Abroch the Inventor and sealed them up. The city of Tintagel began to grow. Two years later, Castle Darksword was completed and "unveiled" in an amazing show of magic and pyrotechnics.
Tintagel was an amazing city, an amalgamation of all the nations and cultures known to Xanath, Zren'f, Githoniel, and Sha'a. The Labs of Abroch were opened up in a limited fashion in the month of Ankou in the 46th year. Xanath, Zren'f, Gwydion, and Saywen had other adventures during this time as well.
During the year 46, Glauraith destroyed two ghosts and rescued a town from ghouls. While hunting a ghoul lord in northern Drychtnoth, Glauraith discovered Kulkuunoth, the Ghoul-Slayer sword. Later that year Glauraith destroyed yet another vampire. Another ghost hunt took nearly a year to complete. During that year he learned to speak several languages.
The Buzzardoes, unseen since the Fourth Age, began to start raiding Silvergate. The forbidden cult of Jergal Zadh began to grow again. A warrior named Aratan took the throne of Shinto (now released from Lamapacher's death grip since the banishment of Lord Komaaks). Lord Aciryas took the throne of Techyr. Khormyr broke into several smaller states that warred for control.
Lamapacher, having had fallen to pieces after Lord Komaaks left, had risen again during the 46th year under the leadership of Lord Komaaks' youngest son, King NuonJardak (apparently Lord Komaaks named all of his children NuonJardak).
The Seven Guardians of the Silver Tree split up. Each going their own ways. Max and Gunnthryd went to Khemt (the City of the Sun); Alphonse went to another continent; Thumedan and Ahgy went to explore the Outer Planes; and Grimhelm and Tho'ef remained in Silvergate.
On the third day of Agik in the 47th year, Noldolante, the Sword of the Silver Tree, was broken during a daring adventure King Grimhelm was involved in. Try as he might, King Grimhelm could not repair the blade.
On the Seventh of Agik in the 47th year, Lord Komaaks returned to Inzeladun. He traveled to Lamapacher and took position as Lord High General of Lamapacher. Orcs began to gather in huge numbers in Lamapacher. Drychtnoth attacked Lamapacher on Artim the 8th in the 47th year and King NuonJardak sent Lord Komaaks to defend Lamapacher. King Grimhelm of Silvergate, Lord Komaaks' old enemy, arrived with his armies to help defend Lamapacher. King Grimhelm entered the war due to the heavy involvement of the Cult of Set. Drychtnoth was driven back.
Lord Komaaks and King Grimhelm infiltrated Drychtnoth, and Lord Komaaks. leading his Orcish army, reprised his role as Kozad Jardak. For six months Kozad and King Grimhelm fought the war, using both Orcs and Humans. Finally, at the battle of Sprakxoratakat, the battle was won. Drychtnoth fell. King Grimhelm and the King of Drychtnoth, Andoriax VI, (a warrior high in the ranks of the Cult of Set) killed each other in a fierce duel. Lord Komaaks Nagutsikatsenu Wayu Tlasinukagenodla died as he was overcome by two thousand knights of high rank.
Both Sir Grimhelm and Lord Komaaks Red Dragon were buried in unmarked tombs on the last day of the 47th year of the age. Because of their victory, the Cult of Set was vanquished in the West and Drychtnoth fell to pieces. The prophecies of the Nan Curunir were fulfilled. With the deaths of King Grimhelm and Lord Komaaks, the Age ends.
