Thó'ef is one of the original seven Guardians of the Silver Tree.  Renowned for his skill with a longbow, he was the most quiet member of the group.  Content to sit in a tree and make bows and arrows, Thó'ef is very in tune with nature.

Thó'ef is the only one of the original Guardians of the Silver Tree still on Inzeladun.  The others have retired to Mount Celestia on the Outer Planes.  Thó'ef, perhaps because he is an elf, was not ready for retirement and returned.

He lives in his domain in Silvergate, and hunts the Horde of Intaba.   Indeed, he is forbidden to enter the Elvenlands because of his self-declared war against Intaba, who had negotiated a peace with the Elves. 100 elves follow him, and live in the deep woods of Silvergate, where humans are not generally allowed to go.  Rumor claims that he fought with Dovinyae the Druid against Yam ibn Saud, and that they slew the demigod.  Rumor also speaks of Thó'ef dying in that battle.  Rumor has also placed him in the Magic Forest of Dagam, just south of Kharzho.

Recently, Thó'ef bathed in the Shadar Pool, and gained permanent +2 enhancements to all of his ability scores, and helped Neria put an end to a branch of the Shadow Shoal, a very powerful assassin organization.

Combat
Thó'ef was virtually the assassin of the Guardians, skilled at long range slaying.  In melee, he fights with Susk, the Silent Sword, a +3 longsword that never makes a sound, even when struck.  Susk also cannot fall, for if released, it will float.  If thrown, it will hover in the air an inch or so from the hand that threw it.  However, he normally fights with his masterwork mighty composite longbow (which he made himself).

His magic items include a +4 Ring of Protection, a bag of holding, Gauntlets of Dexterity +6, Cloak of Resistance +4, Amulet of Health +4, and Boots of Varied Tracks (he can leave the tracks of a horse, rabbit, camel, or a bear, at will).  He has ten +5 flight arrows (which give him a range increment of 185).  He has 20 masterwork flight arrows (range increment 185).  He also has 20 +2 arrows (range increment of 165), and ten masterwork signal arrows.  All arrows were made by him (the magic ones were enchanted by others after he made them).  He dresses in a mithril chain shirt, and keeps his arrows and quivers in his bag of holding.

The artwork at the top of the page was done by me, probably in 1991 or 1992.  The second piece of art depicting this legend of Inzeladun was done by Mark van Dyk on July 26, 1992.
