Xalandra is a native of Kharzho, the capital city of Dagam.  Xalandra was trained in the arts of combat (both Psionic and martial) because the members of her family were all Psions or Psychic Warriors and mostly worshiped Olanigan, the god of war.  Xalandra never really took to the teachings of Olanigan, not really believing in the gods.  However, the Silver Tree interested her more than Olanigan, because she didn’t like the blood-thirsty nature of Olanigan’s followers.  Although she is an extremely skilled warrior, Xalandra doesn’t relish combat the way her family did.  However, if provoked or threatened, Xalandra becomes a raging whirlwind of death.  Disturbed by the blood-thirsty nature of her family, Xalandra decided to head into the world on her own to see what the fates had in store for her.  Recently, while traveling through Indor, she encountered her current companions Roland, Phoebe, and Joriku.  They were later joined by Spaulding.  Xalandra feels that this is where she belongs and likes the direction of this group, now known as “The Liberators”.  Xalandra is especially fond of Joriku because Joriku saved her life from the mummy that once possessed the Skin of the Troll that she now owns.  Xalandra believes in Roland's motives and tends to act like Roland's body guard at times even though he does not normally need one. With some of the more recent adventures The Liberators have been on, Xalandra has taken to perfecting the art of Lucid Dreaming that she learned while growing up in Kharzho.  Joriku is now gone and Spaulding goes by Khrenikath most of the time.  Gaspar has also joined the group, but Xalandra feels that he needs to be more patient and less head strong.  Still, he is a good friend. She desperately misses Joriku and stops by his statue in the center of Oard regularly.

While assisting in the assault on the Illithid bases on Samat Isle, Xalandra was killed in battle and her soul was sucked into the Mindblade (a psionic artifact).  During the battle, she was captured by a Mind Flayer and transported to the Elder Brain where she was thralled.  The Mind Flayer then transported Xalandra to another location that she did not recognize and she was ordered to re-grow a new body.  This was a function of the Mindblade and took ten days to complete.  After her new body was complete, the most hideous looking Mind Flayer she had ever seen entered her room.  The thing stepped forward without thinking a word.  It’s grossly malformed tentacles lashed out at Xalandra and everything went dark.  Xalandra doesn’t remember anything between that point in time and when her companions freed her from the ice deep beneath the surface where T'Bor now rests.  Xalandra was missing and presumed dead for a little over four months.  No one knows what happened to her, or how she came to be encased in ice that had been untouched for millennia.  Why would the Illithids have released her?  All of the unknowns frighten Xalandra to her very soul.  She feels like she is contantly being watched.  Not even Roland’s mighty divinations or his book of answers can figure out what happened to her.

After returning from the icy north, Xalandra never seems to be able to get warm.  She is constantly cold and hates it.  Even sitting in front of a raging fire in her room in the castle doesn’t help.  She had met the mighty Issic a few times and was impressed by the power he wielded.  She wondered if it were possible to somehow harness that kind of power.  All of these factors led her to research the most powerful of creatures….Dragons.  Specifically, she researched which dragons were immune to cold.  Her research led her to three options: White, Silver, and Crystal dragons.  She had “met” a few white dragons and was not thrilled with that idea.  Never had she encountered a silver dragon, but her research indicated that they liked to follow rules and order.  Now, Crystal Dragons were interesting.  Some of the texts she had discovered hinted at the possibility of using ritualistic magic to become a different type of creature, but none of those were specific.  She knew that a Crystal Dragon guarded the Psi-Gate in Kharzo, so she set out to see if she could discuss the possibility of becoming a half-dragon with the guardian.  She traveled to Kharzo via the Psi-Gates (which Roland activated) and appeared in the room with the Crystal Dragon of Kharzo.  Xalandra was surprised how friendly Krysathernax was.  They talked for what seemed like hours and then Xalandra asked her about becoming a crystal half-dragon.  Xalandra was a bit shocked when Krysathernax calmly replied that she could do that for her.  Xalandra inquired as to the cost and Krysathernax said there would be no charge.  Xalandra quickly agreed to undergo the transformation.  Krysathernax told her that the change could take some time.  Xalandra thanked the guardian and told Krysathernax that if there was ever anything she could do for the mighty Crystal Dragon, she need but ask.

Most recently, during a fierce battle with Hrelga, the Frost Giant Queen Lich, Xalandra was utterly destroyed by one of the Lich Queen’s Warhulks.  During the resurrection process, everyone was worried as her body regenerated differently than expected.  Her skin had taken on a slightly translucent, crystalline quality and her facial features had become ever so slightly draconic in nature.  The most impressive change however was a pair of wings that now sprouted from her back.  Xalandra assured her comrades that she was fine and explained to them about her meeting with Krysathernax.  Even Xalandra was surprised by her wings, for her research led her to believe that a Half-Dragon as small as she was wouldn’t grow wings.  She was even able to fly with them.  Perhaps Krysathernax had seen something within Xalandra and awakened it?  No one knew for sure, but Xalandra was ecstatic.  She couldn’t wait to try out her new abilities.  She also can’t wait to see what other abilities are yet to manifest within her.

Combat:

Xalandra almost continually runs the powers Inertial Barrier and Danger Sense.  If she suspects elemental damage, she will also manifest the appropriate version of Energy Barrier. She always enters combat with her halberd first, sometimes manifesting Displacement if opportunity allows.  Xalandra loves to deal massive damage to her enemies and with the surge of energy from her mind feeding weapon, grant Inertial Barrier to her companions.  She uses her Psionic powers whenever the need arises, but mostly fights with her halberd.  Since obtaining a Skin of the Troll, she always uses it in combat, creating a blur of psychedelic colors on the battlefield.  Xalandra can hardly wait for round two with the Lich to try out her new abilities.
