My. The Defenders (and Abernathy's Company) are held up by my group as the paragon of high-level adventuring, and those of us that read these story hours have a good time relating their tales to those we game with. Ever since the trillith fight, the cleverness and
raw firepower of the Defenders has been legendary amongst us.
So it's quite startling to see them almost get their butts handed to them by a rag-tag bunch of pirates. Either it was an off day, or their tactics really are slipping!
