| There's a great dozen pages in David Foster Wallace's Infinite Jest about a guy who becomes obsessed with the show M*A*S*H, finally ignoring his family and taking notes on reruns, becoming slowly convinced that the various characters are transmitting coded messages to him through the TV medium.
Kind of like Kafka's The Trial is sending messages to me. Damn this goatee! It interferes with the signals!
