| Well Sidran, I am sorry about your sickness...may it soon pass. Now, as to the reply. I will begin dealing with the staff since at the moment it is a topic in need of discussion. So, in Daemonforge you are saying that there are very little undead? I did not expect that in a world so desolate and wreathed in destruction and chaos. Anyways though, as I said many times before...as long as it fits, then it shall be. Now, to the staff. I agree with your idea about the staff being more likened to the one ring...that would do...but remember one thing, the staffs powers of corruption must be greater than that of the three stones. The staff, as you can surely tell, is an important tool in the whole tale of Yogsathoth(Yogi). The staff plays some part in the freedom of Yogsathoth but what...I am not exactly sure at the moment. Perhaps some power within it that can only be tapped by someone who is not Yogsathoth...could be interesting. As to the power of the staff(Waves of Darkness). I can see some of it needs changing such as changing its spell like powers from necromatic spells to rather something along the lines of evocation. Now, I read your suggestions about the staffs power and I shall enlighten you on the aspect of the time it takes for the power. The reason there is such a long time to cast the spell is the fact that it is so powerful in magnitude that it would be unfair to have it cast within say, three rounds. Another thing to remember here is...as you say there is alot of combat going on during this ten minutes as it would be a stress filled time...seeing Yogsathoth raise the staff, the orb beginning to glow an eerie green and a long chant being spoken as all of Yogsathoths concentration pours into the orb of the staff. Now, as for combat...remember, it would take some power to affect Yogsathoth. A whole army of elven warriors, bowsmen, and mages of all magnitudes could surround him and attack all they want although it may be to little avail...save only to slow their impending doom (and PO Yogsathoth). Now, besides that...I understand that the idea of these waves of negative energy needs to go (however deadly that may be), also the desecrate, unhallow, and create greater undead also must go (ok, if one goes, concerning this attack is all theme related and linked then all the powers must go). The reason I chose these powers together is this...a) Mass death b) Wrecked landmass c) The dead rise under Yogsathoths power...in other words, it is a massive combo of spells. Back to the staff, anyways, the idea is to have at least one greatly feared power...one power that is a last resort attack...an extremely feared power. As you have said...ouch. That is the likes of a power that it would have. Now, as you said, the references to undead will have to take a hike...I agree, and say goodbye to them. Now, your idea for that power that knocks people over, stuns, and wisdom drains. I like it perhaps as another power...the thing is that I believe that we should make some power that can wrought about by Yogsathoth...a power that is not cool on the battlefield but rather is a living nightmare. No, I am not scrapping your idea and I hope you understand me...I like it and I want to keep it too (so far, the only real thing it can do in battle is act as a huge heavy mace). All I want to do is create a reason for people to wish that Yogsathoth and the staff never meet again. So, I think perhaps then...seeing as the Waves of Darkness is a scrapped idea perhaps we could come up with something more Daemonforgeand just as strong. Now, leaving the staff to work on, we come to the mention of where the staff is. The two I like are basically lost somewhere (such as in the depths of the sea) or somewhere somewhat like in the lord of the rings...in a most unlikely place. Now, lastly we end up with a Celestial Hunter. Great idea...and to tell you the truth, that dwelt in my mind a great deal to seeing as where there is great evil there is a balance. Now, only thing I say nay to is that this Celestial being weilds the staff...perhaps though the celestial hunter has hidden it? Weilding it could cause some problems for the celestial hunter as the staff slowly eats away at him. So there it is...let us work again. Suggestions...all ears!
As for a further note to you Sidran...its funny, but the whole story here...you know with Yogsathoth, Draako, The Celestial Hunter...I believe you are right. It would make a good story. Hence why I also believe then that here...we are achieveing something significant.
