If that is really the point, they are missing it. The tweaks they do might be neat for some, but not for everyone. The Grapple and the Combat Maneuver system is a good change, and I think no one objects to that. But the Barbarian Rage Points, the Monks Ki Points, the extra spell-like abilities for the spellcaster classes? That's not for everyone, only for those that like class specific sub-systems and mini-games, and mostly interesting for those that already got their copy of
3E and needs an "excuse" to buy a new core rulebook. The changes are definitely not suited to keep 3.5 in print...
