You're certainly welcome to your opinion (as I said, I'm not a huge fan of PR myself), but you seem to be severely misjudging the game.
First, it isn't a zero-chance game, as the plantation tiles are random.
Second, having a poor player to your right doesn't seem like a great boon. It does seem slightly advantageous, but only slightly so.
The set up and cleanup time is the killer for me.
