If that turns out to be the case, I think a letter would be in order. They might want some statistics on the estimated number of Americans that actively play D&D (I read somewhere around a million) and how many of them are normal people who have an education, and a family, and want to help take care of the unfortunate. Many of them are even of the same faith (though many of us also are not). Finally, I would probably consider giving your money to a different charity and mention this in the letter. Let them know that you find this situation sad and unnecessary.
I'd write them myself, but as a non-Christian, my ethos with them would be lacking.
