From doing a bit of Google research, it seems that yes, you could certainly use the half-dead to simulate forsaken. They do not have the "cannibalize" ability (racial feat, perhaps?) and they seem to be a bit more alive than the forsaken (at least from what I was able to read), but that might be a matter of flavor at the table. That's encouraging. I actually haven't played WoW for a couple years myself (burnt out on repetitive quests), but I do still enjoy the world lore and adore the idea of an undead PC race, especially as executed with the flavor of the Forsaken. It's something I wish
WotC would support officially, but I suppose if there's a lot of "
4e is like WoW" complaining
now...
