Hey, Monopoly was pretty well balanced (just really boring during the endgame stage). The car didn't get +1 to movement and the top hat didn't get a +$50 style bonus every time it passed "Go".

If anything, Monopoly pieces are exactly the opposite: so balanced that they are just cookie cutters of each other with no mechanical differentiation between them whatsoever.
