Beholden? Alienated? This isn't a fiefdom or a high school locker room.
The third party publishers who feel they can best make money publishing
4e material right now are going to do so right now. Those who feel they can better spend their efforts elsewhere will do so. If or when a new
GSL is written, some third party publishers will change their minds about their best course of business.
Any third party publisher who is genuinely making business decisions out of a sense of obligation or alienation deserves to go out of business.
