Crothian Gnoll Huntmaster (Lvl 5)
Axis and Allies D-Day

I got this for Christmas and we played it for the first time last night. It is very different and by the end both sides realized what they had done wrong in the early rounds because we didn't know what the changes meant for the game.

I am a long time A&A player and I've really enjoyed the variant smaller games that have come out. In this game there are cards that everyone goes through to that shows everything both sides do. The card order is not random and by the end of the game it is amazing on how many cards are no longer used. Once the bombers get blown up the three bomber cards don't become important for instance.

Instead of buying units there is a reinforcement chart. The number of units each side gets is randomly determined each round, but all the units should be gotten by the end of the game.

It is a game that ends in ten rounds, and one of my mistakes as Germany was not playing the delaying game earlier in the game. It came down to the final round a close attack on Germany's final go.

We will be playing again at some point. It was a lot of fun.
