| Finally got to play this on Saturday. Only 3 players, though, myself, Peter and Lee.
I was President Gaius Baltar, Lee was Admiral Adama, and Peter was Starbuck.
It was obvious early on that there was no cylon. We were having quite a bit of good fortune, too. When the sleeper phase came up, we had nothing in the red, although food and fuel were both one step away from it. Population and morale were still both full or near full.
It occurred to me that, in a 3-player game, Gaius's ability (once per game look at all loyalty cards of one player) meant that after sleeper agent cards were passed out I was guaranteed to find the cylon (i.e. either I'm the cylon, the player I check is the cylon, or the player I check is not so the 3rd player is). I checked Lee and announced that he was the cylon.
Here, he made a big mistake, which he soon realized: he didn't deny and try to cast the blame on me. He confirmed that, yes, he was the cylon. We didn't have the resources to throw him into the brig right away, but I managed to convince him not to reveal himself until my turn came back around, and used a quorum card to throw him in the brig.
From there, I'm not really sure what happened. I thought we were doing rather well, but we ended up losing when we got our 8th unit of distance because the -1 fuel, -1 morale card killed our morale. Admiral Starbuck had no choice, because both cards were the same.
I can't believe the tin cans won.
Hoping to play this again on Friday with more people. |
