I really enjoyed the start of this campaign. I even enjoyed the relatively drawn-out messing about at the beginning because we were RP-ing the cautiousness of a thrown-together bunch of strangers. Lots of interaction even without lots of conversation on it.
The exploding dice were cool, and my first 3 or so checks exploded. Where they abandoned me was in the water
The folders were very cool, the cards I liked a lot and the bonus quest cards are fun too. Good thing I just changed a few powers and stats
I was happy to get new armor, and my first concern was how best to deal with the Pelor insignia on it. I do not want to represent some dead god, nor insult my reborn one! Unfortunately, temples to Ryukaar are pretty rare I would suppose, so maybe I can come up with a ceremony to re-dedicate it and later get a smith to get new etchings on it.
Rel forgot to mention that after hitting the pavement, I was healed back up and given the BBEG's instant auto-return attack, I would assuredly kill myself again with a direct attack, so after we talked about it, Astavian shoved him over the edge and let the ranged allies finish him off. I think I had to AP the push to make it work.
I'll also give credit to the
DDI character generator. I am not a book-person for gaming, so not having to sift through the options all day was nice. Very easy to check hidden specifics that can make a difference, like one is vs Reflex attack, or uses WIS bonus and not STR or CHA for me. Anyway, was handy.
I had a great time. Right into the story, cool characters, fighting, dying (hey wait, I was out there growing new behinds on the fly to get kicked I think) and interesting stuff. All good, even with the total screwover in the water, and I meant the fish not my armor even.
