| Played it 4 times at a convention last weekend. Won 1, lost 3. The researcher was the position most missed when we didn't have one; it's very hard to get cards into the scientist's hands without the researcher.
Our first game we spent too much time healing people and neglected research; we ran out of cards with only 2 cures. Second game we thought we would learn from that, and with a dispatcher-researcher-scientist combo we quickly scored two cures and were almost to a third....when Asia blew up in a massive chain reaction that ran us out of red disease blocks. After that we found a balance of just thinning the worst trouble spots while working mostly on cures, and that won us the next game. The epidemics were less kind to us in the 4th, and we died of too many outbreaks with 2 more turns needed to win.
Definitely going to buy it. |
