Connorsrpg Goblin Sharpshooter (Lvl 2)
I am planning to run a playtest with players tonight too.

Probably do one of the free adventures others have posted, but I might warm them up with a fight or 2 from these monsters (the ones I have the minis for most likely). Just a couple of fights before an adventure...Will see how time goes, as we have other things to do too (level up characters from 2 other games, and create new Star Wars ones).

Goblin Pyro (1 Skirmisher)

It has the specifically Paizo spin on goblins, but probably still fun in play. I have some concerns how it works out in play... though obviously I need to make some goblin minions to go with it, now.

Hehe, I love this:
Quote:

Danger to Themselves

If a goblin pyro misses with any melee attack and there is an adjacent goblin minion, it kills the goblin minion. If the goblin pyro rolls a 1 on any attack roll, it hits itself.

Hey keterys - keep up the good work!

I really enjoy checking out your monsters, and it almost gets my creative juices flowing enough to do a couple myself. Thanks!

In the absence of the Monster Manual, I am in need of rats! Here are some stats I came up with for the Sunless Citadel 4th edition conversion I'm working on. Please let me know your thoughts:

Feral Rat, Level 1 Minion
Small Natural Beast
Initiative +3; Senses Perception +1
HP dies when damaged
AC 14; Fortitude 11, Reflex 13, Will 9
Speed 5
M Bite (standard; at-will)
+5 vs. AC; 2 damage AND Diseased Bite also see Pack Hunter
Diseased Bite +1 vs. Fort; target diseased (target loses use of a healing surge per day until saves or until healed by Heal check DC 25 administered over a short rest, or with ritual to remove disease; save can be made only once per long rest (once per day); while a target is diseased, further Diseased Bites by feral rats have no cumulative effect).
Pack Hunter Combat advantage if ally adjacent to target.
Alignment Unaligned
Str 8 (-1) Dex 16 (+3) Wis 8 (-1)
Con 12 (+1) Int 3 (-4) Cha 9 (-1)

Guthash, Feral Rat Denmother, Level 2 Skirmisher
Medium Natural Beast
Initiative +5; Senses Perception +1
HP 36; Bloodied 13
AC 15; Fortitude 12, Reflex 14, Will 13
Speed 5
M Bite (standard; at-will)
+6 vs. AC; 1d8+1 damage AND Diseased Bite also see Pack Hunter
Diseased Bite +2 vs.
Str 12 (+1) Dex 16 (+3) Wis 10 (+0)
Con 12 (+1) Int 4 (-3) Cha 15 (+2)

I read that as Aryan Sunblade.

Now I know what evil order of super-soldiers will feature in my 4E campaign.

Huh. I was starting from 'Aerie' and looking for something a little melodic...

I could totally change that name, and would certainly take suggestions.

Though I actually really like the idea of evil super soldier angels wielding radiant energy.

I'm planning to use some earthen defenders in a group this weekend, as creatures summoned by an evil wizard to fight the players. I'll let you know how that battle goes.

Very likely do a few more later today since my game got cancelled. Watching some TV and making D&D stats? Yeah, sounds good.

Its attack on grabbed targets is pretty tough, so if it's too hard to get out of grabbed then this might be a little much and need to be rebalanced.

Playtested some Fri night using the 1st lvl PCs from DnDXP.

Used some of your critters (the ones had minis for) for an eg of combat before playing one of those free adventures posted here at Enworld.

PCs had to go to wizards house and find out why he didn;t show for important meeting. Entry hall with balcony...wind sprite appeared and attacked from balcony, earthen defender was in a footlocker surrounded by dirt and in the 2nd round the 'something maw' entered through rear door.

Battle went well...loved your monsters. A few rules comments follow.

1. You were right, the dirt moving around the earthen defender had very little effect on play (mostly b/c it did the attacking).
2. Wind sprite worked well as controler, but maintaining the whirlwind was kind of bogus. It is a great idea and she did it b/c she had that spare minor action each round, but what you really need is the ability to move the whirlwind itself - not just those that come into contact with it.
3. The death bite of the maw didn;t really come into it as the PCs dealt with the thing mostly from range.

Overall a pretty good encounter.

Next room, wizard on floor by fireplace and opened book nearby.

The lava guy leaps out of fire and wreaked havoc on group.

The bursts at bloodied and death REALLY messed the group up. 4 sq burst is a VERY LARGE area. B/c it was indoors, everyone in the room, including the room itself, the dead wizard, his book, etc was incinerated

I would restrict this burst to a much smaller area for such a small creature. I realise its level and the PCs dealt with it with trouble (as they should have given their level), but is was more of a visual thing..."It explodes...and I get hit WAY over here, AND it is still there?"

Anyway, hope actual playtest helps. Players loved it. It was our 1st XP with 4E and we had a ball. I LOVED using these critters and the players really liked the character options.

Cheers, C
