NEW Multi-Classing Feat Paths

These are new multi-classing rules that I made for viladin's Final Fantasy d20 Project over at http://ffd20.orgfree.com/phpBB2/index.php

I've included the Cleric feat path as a sample.

You can find feat paths for the other core classes in the Multi-Classing Feat Paths thread at the project site. Be sure to read the whole explanation text and compare the feats to other feats at their respective tiers before commenting.

To those of you who check out the site, the wizard feat path may be tweaked further.

These rules replace the core rulebook rules for multiclassing feats, power-swap feats, and paragon multi-classing.

A multi-class feat allows your character to gain access to the class features and powers of another class. You can only take multi-class feats for 1 class other than your own.
A multi-classing feat path is formed when you take two or more multi-class feats that have the same name, except for a number that denotes the order of the feat in the path. The first feat in the multi-classing feat path has no number, while the second feat in the order has the number 2, the third feat in the order has the number 3, and so on.
A feat path has up to 9 feats in its order. Each feat in the path after the 1st becomes available at every 4th level.
A character that has 1 multi-class feat counts as a member of the associated class for the purpose of fulfilling the requirements of feats.
A character that has 3 multi-class feats in the same feat path before 11th level counts as a member of the associated class for the purpose of fulfilling the requirements of paragon paths.
A character that has 7 multi-class feats in the same feat path before 21st level and has taken a paragon path for the class counts as a member of the associated class for the purpose of fulfilling the requirements of epic destinies.
Being able to use a class feature from the associated class as a result of taking a multi-class feat also qualifies you for taking a feat that has that class feature as a prerequisite.
Once taken, a multiclass feat can never be retrained.

Initiate of the Faith 2
[MULTICLASS CLERIC]
Prerequisite: Initiate of the Faith, 4th level
Benefit: You are now able to use one of the cleric's at-will powers once per encounter.
In addition, you can choose to swap one encounter attack power you know for one cleric encounter attack power of the same level or lower. When you gain a level after taking this feat, you can alter this choice. Treat this as if you are taking this feat for the first time, either picking a different power to swap for or swapping for a power to begin with. You can also swap the cleric encounter attack power you have for an encounter attack power of the same level or lower from your first class.

Initiate of the Faith 3
[MULTICLASS CLERIC]
Prerequisite: Initiate of the Faith 2, 8th level
Benefit: You increase your Wisdom score permanently by 1 point.
In addition, you can choose to swap one utility power you know for one cleric utility power of the same level or lower. When you gain a level after taking this feat, you can alter this choice. Treat this as if you are taking this feat for the first time, either picking a different power to swap for or swapping for a power to begin with. You can also swap the cleric utility power you have for a utility power of the same level or lower from your first class.

Initiate of the Faith 4
[MULTICLASS CLERIC]
Prerequisite: Initiate of the Faith 3, 12th level
Benefit: You are now able to use the cleric at-will power that you chose for your Initiate of the Faith 2 feat at will instead of once per encounter.
In addition, you can choose to swap one daily attack power you know for one cleric daily attack power of the same level or lower. When you gain a level after taking this feat, you can alter this choice. Treat this as if you are taking this feat for the first time, either picking a different power to swap for or swapping for a power to begin with. You can also swap the cleric daily attack power you have for a daily attack power of the same level or lower from your first class.

Initiate of the Faith 5
[MULTICLASS CLERIC]
Prerequisite: Initiate of the Faith 4, 16th level
Benefit: You increase your Wisdom score permanently by 1 point.
In addition, you can choose to swap one at-will attack power you know for one cleric at-will attack power. When you gain a level after taking this feat, you can alter this choice. Treat this as if you are taking this feat for the first time, either picking a different power to swap for or swapping for a power to begin with. You can also swap the cleric at-will attack power you have for an at-will attack power of the same level or lower from your first class.

Initiate of the Faith 6
[MULTICLASS CLERIC]

Initiate of the Faith 7
[MULTICLASS CLERIC]

Prerequisite: Initiate of the Faith 7, 28th level

you have a feat that gives +1 to an ability score?
it may make sense because multiclassing really makes MAD much worse,
effectively restricting you to classes that at use similar abilities. The problem is that if you do plan this way (combining 2 str classes for example) the +1 stat bonus is far better than any other feat.

I may steal the feats that allow an at-will swap (first 1 per encounter, then trading for an at-will from base class.) that looks handy.

The +1 to 1 ability score may be great but it requires a significant investment into the feat path. Plus, the feats are not retrainable, making it a big choice to make since it is permanent. Other feats you can retrain for higher tier feats but not the multiclassing feats under the custom system. They represent a deeper connection to your character's personal story so they are fixed. As you progress into the paragon and epic tiers, the multiclassing feats hopefully balance out the fact that they are not retrainable. That is why they have such good support for the build you are progressing towards.

Oh, and here's the thread for the feat paths at final fantasy d20.
