Another idea to remove MAD

In this idea each class has their primary as normal. In the case of the four 1/2 classes the player decides which stat will be their primary. So one Ranger might say I would like it to be DEX and another might prefer to be STR based. Etc.

Then the secondary ability the player gets to decide what that ability is out of the other 5. This completely removes MAD. They can create the character they want and play as against type as they want without being sub-par.

Well???

Hmmm so all power descriptions would reference primary, secondary. for their various effects, not radically different than some of the suggestions so far.

My last conclusion was to remove MAD to simply get rid of all of the other class stat requirements, leaving just the prime. This is a variant on that, your prime is set as normal but then you decide your secondary stat.

So for instance, if you want your Cosmic Sorcerer to cause radiant damage based on how tough he is instead of how ripped his chest is or whatever. That way characters can choose their bent.

Your Primary Score increases by 1 at these levels.
3rd, 7th, 13th, 17th, 23rd, 27th

Normally two scores are increased at:
4th, 8th, 14th, 18th, 24th, 28th
Instead make these increases to any score except your Primary Score.

Just something I was thinking about and seemed related to your post.
