Monster Cards

I have created and posted 4e Monster Cards on the Kingworks Creative Blog There are complete sets for the following books:

Monster Manual 1
Open Grave
Dungeon Delve
Manual of the Planes

They are formatted to fit on a 6" x 4" index card and, for the most part, have the following layout:

(Some of the earlier cards from MM1 have a slightly different layout in the side column.)

I am happy to make and offer these completely free of charge, but ask that users own a copy of the material they are downloading for, in order to avoid copyright infringement.

Enjoy!

The first 3 levels from Monster Manual 2 are now available.

More to come as I get them finished - they will be released 3 levels at a time.

Enjoy!

Let me offer my thanks for this. I love the black and white format over scanning or clipping the original's.

Trying something new: Monster Cards as editable .pdfs

I put a sample up on my blog and would LOVE any and all user feedback. This will take off or crash and burn based on if & how people respond.

Of course this is awesome.

The monster card design that you have created is brilliant. These cards make initiative, monster management, and running combat as smooth as silk. You should earn several major awards.

I still print out everything, but this editable version has some great advantages. Will you be going back and re-doing the earliest monsters from the first Monster Manual?

Nice. I still use MSE and the monster/character/power cards Black Plauge and I created, but if this had been around last year, I'd probably have abandoned work on my version and used these.

Like you said on the website, it would be infinitely more useful to have the image be editable, such that I could take the output from DDI or a scan from my book, and import that. I don't know how to do it in Acrobat, sadly, but that would be the ideal.

Hate to be a spoil-sport but isn't this against the board rules and also essentially pirating?

@Dane: Thank you very much. If I can find a way to quickly and easily apply a pdf template to the existing cards, I certainly will endeavor to do that.

@Mercuito01: Importing files and scans is getting into a full-fledged program. Unfortunately, I am not able to pursue that - at least, not at this time. I will continue to look into using pdf's, though.

@Kzach: I have made no money in this endeavor in any way. I suppose it would be pirating for someone who did not own the material to download and use it. If WotC ever sends a C&D notice, I will acquiesce immediately.

This is awesome work!

Howeer, I haven't had a chance to utilise it sice I dscovered it, and now the Monster Builder can produce excellent output (jpg/rtf) ... won't that be better than scans?

A proggy that takes monster builder output, and produces a monster card, would be ideal actually.

Avoids IP problems, allows for custom monsters, and generally makes the world a better place.

. . . I'm think I may wind up with a simple blank template with slots to enter all information.

That's probably the only thing I can produce that will make everyone happy.

A guy can only take getting banned in forums so much before giving serious reconsideration to what he's posting. -_-"

UPDATE: I've taken down the links. I will no longer be producing Monster Cards.
