To each their own, but one more thing to consider: D&D used magic to 'escalate' the types of challenges PCs face. As PCs obtain more tools and gain the ability to bypass certain types of challenges, the game introduces newer challenges that take more advanced capabilities to confront. This is a problem for PC types that do not have evolving capabilities that handle these challenges, but it...

As he moves, out of sight of most of the party, two of the Da'Roneh at the back of the formation clap their hands together but the sound produced is nothing that would naturally occur. Two different tones are sounded. It is obvious to the Seekers that the Da'Roneh...

I have a dream of feats that work both for enabling both roll- and role-play character concepts. I'd go so far to say that if you really don't think that is possible, then you probably oughtn't use feats at all... which of course is fine and perhaps what you would argue anyway. Perhaps a better example case here though is a bard or warlock. They seems to carry some expectation of being in...

Here's what I would do: All bonuses from X are from X. So a feat that gives a bonus to damage is a feat bonus. A power is a power bonus(so are class and paragon features). A bonus from a magic sword is an item bonus. A bonus from a shard is an item bonus. Etc... Vulnerability = bonus to damage from the source. So Lasting Frost being triggered is a +5 feat bonus to damage. Morninglord is a +10...

It actually says out right that Demigods are the weakest form of Quasigod, I assumed Titans were stronger then vestiages because...

The thing about gunpowder weapons in Eberron, is that even if somebody did bother to take the time to invent and improve upon them, they still wouldn't be any more effective (and probably considerably more expensive) than the magical weaponry and artillery that they already had lying around. Also keep in mind that most of what constitutes "inventing" in Eberron is "Hey, look at this cool thing...

As far as I can tell, the designers love a good debate! But, yeah, it appears that they decided that in the end, it wasn't worth worrying about. Ammo is ammo. I like the idea of explaining it with the story that most people who are proficient with the weapon are good enough with it to tinker either the weapon, the ammo, or both, well enough to make it work.

I introduced guns to D&D in the 80s. It was very simple: Steps: 1.) Use crossbow characteristics and change the fluff description. 2.) Say "Boom" when you attack. It has worked in AD&D, 2E, 3E, 4E and 5E. There is no real reason you need to give the gun and crossbow any more mechanical differences than a Glaive and a Halberd or Battleaxe and Longsword.

The longbow was perfected during that time, as well as a lot of siege weapons. If they'd already had those advancements they would have made other ones, right?

Yes, but I guess this is where game focus and preference lie. Are you focused on getting the best possible AC, or do you play more to support fun concepts over mechanical benefits. Additionally, it also depends on what that player wants. Most wizards or sorcerers are not wading into combat. They are staying at a distance because they are by design more squishy. Thus, they may be targeted less...
