I ran Forge of Fury in my 3.5 Eberron game with the goal being that it was a lost Forge in Darguun that held an important maguffin a disguised raksasha wanted. The creatures in the Forge were evil (corrupted by the artifact) including it's dragon guardian. I ran it pretty stock besides that.

I would like to leave it some kind of weakness, in case the suit turns out to be TOO powerful and just mows them them down. But they've surprised me before and I don't thing I've ever seen them use poison attacks anyway, so giving it a filtration system to block fog and cloud attacks wouldn't hurt.

Okay, but wouldn't a change of narration fix that? The halfling isn't completely unseen, but is able to confuse the enemy enough for a momentary advantage that is the similar to being completely hidden? For me, verisimilitude involves no one having eagle-eyed radar vision that spots anything peeking out even a little bit. YMMV, of course, and you're welcome to your play, it's right way to play...

As long as the "pilot" is in the suit he's pretty much invulnerable. The suit is air tight and covers him head to toe. I might allow gas and cloud based attacks to effect him since the suit HAS to allow him to breath somehow. "Powerful"...

There are some alterations in the way the grid and some of the things that happen on it are explained (IE how ranges and areas and some of the details of attack process) but the actual effective result of what is there is virtually identical to what is in 4e. No, that's not why it's uncertain that a PC will jump as far as he can. It's not uncertain all as the jump rules state very specifically how far that is. Reality is uncertain. The game is not. The only possible uncertainty comes if the players describe a way that makes sense to allow the PC to exceed his maximum. Go an usual distance. It's not unwarranted if the player is having his...

I once had a "power suit" that I gave a player character. It worked similar to Ironman's armor, or a Hulk Buster suit. The only thing the character had to do was Attune to it using all 3 Attunement slots. It was pretty powerful. He could fly, had Resistance to various damage types, could breathe in space and underwater, and could shoot ki blasts just to name some features.

As long as you're only grappling a human, though, both halflings and humans are on equal footing. It's a lot like the rules for heavy weapons. Halflings can use...

The rules do say the latter. The jump rules state that your strength determines how far you can jump. Not how far you can jump without a roll. Not how far you can jump without effort. It doesn't offer more, so that's as far as you can go unless you do something that would allow you to go unusually far via an athletics check.

DEAD WRONG. Quite literally, some of the best campaigns start without a scenario. Especially given the mechanics in AD&D, where dungeons can be created on the fly, and random encounter tables are provided. If you multi class cleric & wizard you will have just as many spell slots and 9th level spell slots as a full wizard and cleric and with up casting you still be able to put those 9th level spells to use. I can't say for sure that's what the designers intended. What I can say is that in order to arrive at a DC, a DM needs to judge an approach to a goal. A solid approach to a goal might garner automatic success. A terrible approach to a goal might garner automatic failure. Somewhere in the middle are varying degrees of difficulty that are uncertain. The rules cannot set forth what that might be as...

Umm... No. They can't. They can double their speed (very different from Dash which adds your speed) for free, but can't reuse it unless they stand still for a turn.

They get sneak attack if their target has an enemy adjacent. They don't need advantage. In games that I've played in the rogue gets sneak attack the vast majority of times even without hiding. In addition, rogues in my games get to attack from hiding on a pretty regular basis. Just not every round and not by the lazy "I hide behind the fighter every round".

With the preface that I am absolutely in support of groups playing their game their way, I do not see rules as completely ambiguous in that way. The sentence construction and words have meaning. Taken as a whole the expressed mechanics lend themselves better to some meanings than others. To give an absurd example, no one (probably) thinks that the Jumping rules tell you that you can drink up...

Ok, Let me clarify, the OP asked for a Warlock concept Direction as one class. I provided one. OP asked what Options would be best for multi-class particularly considering Bard and Divine Soul Sorcerer. I recommended bard for thematic and practical reasons. I am not recommending going striate warlock or multi-classing warlock. I am just makes suggestions based off of the questions asked. On...

Well I mean, it's regularly admitted by WotC that the Rogue was designed with the intent that they would get Sneak Attack every round by hiding, so... kinda screwing them over with that. At least for ranged. Melee works anyway because of an adjacent creature.

Not to force peoples hand as it where but the other characters can do something while the Troll is distracted. You can use Intelligence (Investigation) to examine the mutant bodies, check out the hallways, the bathrooms, etc.

Millions of new points of view, at any rate. And WotC has made it clear that their goals with balance are about participation and felt satisfaction, as much as anything. The optimal playstyle for the Beastmaster is, deceptively, ruthless and Gygaxian, but if people are still playing it over options that would suit their play better and having fun...then, yeah, mission accomplished. I agree that...

I like that. Yeah but I don't just want to be able to use a bow I want it to be effective and worthwhile. A wood-elf druid has no reason (other than flavor) to use a bow instead of cantrips after level 5. Maybe there isn't enough concept behind "druid with bow" but somehow I wanted to make a ranged martial sub-class because...why not?

It's not about strength, it's about leverage. And strength because of course it is, D&D.

Chaosmancer just because WotC doesn’t want to take the disruptive step of putting out a revision to a class doesn’t mean they can’t look at other ways to increase satisfaction levels for different play styles. Feats, fighting styles, and spells all offer ways to give players more choice without the confusion of multiple versions of the class. It will be tough having to give up a spell or a...

I found that back during my height of RPG'g, my house was the central (most used) place to play. Everyone had a few books, so combined we had ALL the sourcebooks. But once we lost a few players, and some forgetting their books, I ended up getting my own. Then everyone started to not bring theirs (as we had a version of the book where we played most often). This happened when AD&D was...

Those also cover far more than any other Fighting Style. It sounds closer to half of a feat. Also, if the Ranger is fine, why would they release this, since it is clearly only useful for the Beastmaster Ranger and no one else? Then we get into the issue of choosing the fighting style before you actually get the Beast, meaning that you are essentially losing half of your second level to...

Hidden is a way to get advantage, which, with the one rogue ranged attack, substantially increase damage output. Even with it, though, rogues don't top the damage pile. Honestly, this is what gets me about strong rulings to limit hiding for rogues -- the results don't merit the means. A rogue making a single, advantaged attack every round doesn't outpace other damage dealers in any sense --...
