GMs and players share a common problem – getting a group started. No matter the RPG or the genre, turning individual characters into an adventuring party, superhero team, supernatural coven or pack, etc. is hard, and yet it's essential for a good game. Group connections help to raise the stakes when something goes wrong and provides incentive for them to act. For GMs, the cliché of...

The perils of working on a licensed property — you have to get every morsel approved by the IP owners. Even that photo required permission. Believe me, if I could you’d be so deluged in news and previews you’d wish I’d just shut up about it! :) But yes, we have big news we’re waiting for approval to share.

Well, the question remains as to whether the supplied Image button is defective only for me or if others are encountering the issue. If it’s just malfunctioning for me, I have no real problem using the workaround. If others are experiencing the same problem, it probably needs fixing.

That would be an infuriatingly stupid thing to say. Most people do not intentionally things that are infuriatingly stupid. So if your first impression of something I or anyone else has said is that it's infuriatingly stupid, I would recommend - rather than duly becoming infuriated - instead taking a second look and asking yourself what other, more reasonable thing they might actually have meant.

Playing on a grid is a variant. That a creature controls a square space in combat corresponding to its size category is part of the default game, meant to be played TotM. You might play differently, but I don’t have to explain how things work in your games. “Line of sight” is a game-term that describes the relationship that exists between two spaces when an imaginary line going from a ...

How about the philosophy that heros should be awesome because of themselves not their toys? i think that is why daily limits centered more around the hero make sense. Think of it this way - My hero has 1 to 4 dailies of personal power AND they limited item dailies to be 1 to 3 dailies. Your personal game took the powers items and personal power provide and melded them into boons which is...

Bixby awakens with a start. The small halfling had been sleeping so peacefully when the dream came. It always started the same, he is in his woods at night but the sky is off. No moon or stars are visible but the sky watches. As Bixby looks up the presence reaches down. The thing reaches for him and where it touches the forest and trees twist and distort. The living things that are covered...

I can take credit... Anyway, I thought it was an improvement. In the first place nothing REALLY stated that players were given the power to simply acquire any old item whatsoever, or that GMs HAD to allow for enchantment of any arbitrary item (in any case, if you strictly follow the treasure guidelines PCs have a very restricted budget for enchanting stuff they want, UNLESS it is quite a bit...

I would give the assassin the crossbow expert feat and maybe splash a fight level on one of the front liners. Try and get the Mastermind the green flame blade cantrip.

Seeing as I didn't attribute that argument to you, it's not a Strawman. And again, I didn't attribute that to you, so no Strawman. You have yet to provide any real proof of this. Good sales doesn't cut it, since you can enjoy buying the books and want to buy more books that aren't there.

Nice strawman. Of course a faster rate is "possible". We're discussing if the marketplace is wanting it, not whether it could be done. Again a strawman. I didn't say people are "unable" to want more. They DON'T want more. WOTC has done a lot of market research on this issue, and every time they're getting a lot of good feedback that people do not want a significantly increased publication...

Even though this is a private meeting, I am assuming that Respen will eventually reveal this information to the party, therefore, I am posting it openly. I also wanted you, my players, to see the amount of detail in this response, to illustrate the fact that, despite my recent slow-down in rate-of-posting, I am indeed still working very dilligently on this campaign. ~ I wonder how many elves...

Yup, and it was some of the worst drivel ever to hit the small screen. People remember the hay days of TNG, but, tend to forget that all the really memorable episodes happened AFTER Roddenberry no longer was involved. Meh, I liked Discovery. Excellent stories, cool characters, well laid out. Sure, there were some duds there, I get that. First season wobbles and all that. But, I'll...

Yah. And, to bring it back around to the OP, that's kind of the distinction made for iron. There is a point somewhere between bees and humans where we are doing things that are not clear results of natural processes. If you have a seed, and plant it in the right place, you get a tree. If you have a queen bee, and put her in an appropriate place, you will get a beehive. If you put a person...

Thanks, smbakeresq! Ok, let me ask you this: So let's suppose that getting medium armor and a shield one way or another is treated as a necessity, at least in the context of my group without much of a solid front line (a perspective I'm increasingly inclined to agree with as this thread has progressed). Would you (a) trade away extra magical secrets and some skills to get it via being a valor...

In response to the messenger approaching & asking for him, Elkhorn replies: "If you're tying to serve...
