Your approach is cool for rp also iprefer the mediaeval value ratios of gold and silver and copper which were 1:20:240 That was still visible with former British currency 1£ being 20 shillings and a shilling 12 pence. Realism or not, it sounds plain stupid that every day tools and weapons should cost 100 gold this makes gold almost worthless and the lesser coins almost junk.

I was watching a game played with a dice pool, and could see that the GM was waiting for the dice roll and then deciding by what felt right, rather than having any kind of precise resolution. How precise are the RPG rules themselves, and what are the consequences of imprecision? Sourced from Pixabay. ďBut, he thought, I keep them with precision. Only I have no luck anymore. But who...

Silver standard is great and it values gold more, so you do not need to carry much around. I did it like this: If we look at today prices of copper, silver, gold and platinum and make a coin of same size(volume) and start with copper, then silver is almost exactly 100 copper gold is 145 silver, this can be minted in smaller coins to get ◊100 value but platinum is only 0,75 gold.

The example with another try - attempt to reverse a losing skill check/challenge/contest (arm-wrestling...etc) is very appealing. It is fairly easy to associate AS with a physical activity outside of combat. Perhaps even using AS to gain expertise for said action or spending it to lower the difficulty of the DC. I can see the argument for that too.

An idea that can get swingy... Increase the effectiveness of criticals. When something is hit by a critical there is a chance for instant death (or if that is too strong, to lose 1/4 of it's HP, or 1/2 of it's HP instantly). To see if it dies roll percentage dice (or 1d20). If it is 5% or lower, the thing dies (or a 1 on a d20). Each time it receives a critical it has to roll again, but...

As a long-time user of VTT as well, I definitely agree here. Maps for VTT benefit from not having the grids on them. Just make the map align to a certain dimension* and then say what it is. The user then sets up the map to that size and then is done. This allows the user to operate without a grid, use a different grid color, or add their own terrain objects without disrupting the grid. *For...

I fixed the spelling errors (thanks again!) and moved some stuff around and deleted a few things (notably the useless "overheat" ability), which let me add some more information. The biggest change is that I reduced the dragon's hit points so that it's a proper CR 1 whether the PCs interact with the Weak Points system or not. It still seems dangerous for a 1st-level party, but not insane.

With this one your attacks are regular fighter attacks without the benefit of styles, so your damage is less than other Martial classes. Others will do more since they benefit from your features.

I used to think like that. Now I donít. Had a blast playing my share of PCs with rolled stats, some using the die rolls in order. (Emphasis mine.) While I often create unusual characters, I donít think character creation is necessarily about creating a character who is distinctive from the earliest points of the campaign. Sometimes, playing a bog-standard, cookie-cutter stereotype is...

Sure, but if you want to model the old-school approach where this stuff is developed at the table, you could just start everyone with one free use of Inspiration, maybe refresh it at level 2 if it's been used, and then set the BIFTs at level 3 if the character survives.

These are great, my favourite is the 2nd map with the coffin in the center of the room. Nice detail and really useful.

I'll have to look at that. My sister has Comcast internet, and the router for it is duel band. It has two different entries on the list. My aunt has comcast but only one signal. I'm not sure if it's 5g or not.

Doing more makes the character creation mini game more fun. It doesn't do very much to make the game itself more fun.

I agree with that underlying assumption. There are rolled arrays so bad that they just won't be played. One way or another they won't be. I'm fine with that. However, almost no matter how many times you reroll in order it's still an order of magnitude faster than standard array. The speed factor comes from actually considering how all the various options you could do stack up against one...

If the wireless network is on a dual band router, it could be that you have the printer on the 5 GHz band. Some printers don't work with 5 GHz band. Switching it to the 2.4GHz band might solve it.

Intelligence or Wisdom works with almost any skill when trying to analyse or detect someone else's use of it. For instance, a Wisdom (Athletics) check to realise that a competitor in a race is deliberately holding back, or an Intelligence (Sleight of Hand) check to determine how best to secure the party's valuables against pickpockets before entering a bustling city.

I roll initiative at the beginning of a Session and that is the characters initiative for the entire Session. This SEVERELY cuts down on how fast battle begins and the players know already when they will react and how they are playing (tactic wise) for that Session.

I disagree! Character Creation is all about being original and finding a new backstory that differentiates one human fighter from another...maybe you have the Noble Background and offended another Noble because you took his betrothed home for the night. Or maybe you spent your life as a Gladiator in the private service to a King as his champion...only when you lost instead of having you...
