Filmark arrives at the doorway and sees Tin just inside scolding an old farm couple huddled together on the floor near the door. The woman has her head buried in the man's chest crying as and the guardsman hears him as he speaks to the female warrior. "Go...go out there?" his voice says cracking a bit. "They will catch us for sure." With that the woman whimpers a bit louder. Before Tina can...

I would rather remove armor proficiency as a whole and add strength requirement as main thing. I.E. leather armor needs 8 strength, plate needs 20 strength. Fill any armor in-between from 10 to 18 str as you wish. Mithril can reduce str requirement by 4 or 6.

To echo some others, my favorite campaign ideas emerge from players and their character ideas. I strongly prefer character driven plots, and until session 0 has concluded, I won't do more campaign design than daydream some very vague ideas, and even those are likely to get thrown out unless they're particularly suitable for the PCs.

In some ways, Eberron is more advanced than 20th century society, and in other ways, it is more regressed because of the disproportionate nature of magic on the progression of their cultures. Gunpowder-based artillery has not been invented because there has been no need for inventing handguns with the ubiquity of wide-magic. Artillery and guns exist in...

The reason that firearms replaced bows as weapons of war was because their ammunition could be mass-produced rather than requiring relatively skilled craftsmen. Cannith doesn't do mass-production, and would probably oppose development of a weapon that would allow nations to mass-produce magic-equivalent weapons themselves without Cannith's influence/ability to charge them for it.

In the episode of play I referenced, skill checks (or abilities gated by skills, like driving a speeding ATV out of a starship hold to assault a base) were at the core of the action. But D&D doesn't give you PCs who are centrally defined by skills. The closest it gets to this is the classic Thief class, but that itself is a pre-determined bundle of skills. So D&D simply doesn't permit an INT 2...
