A focused and flavorful supplement for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game from Dragon Wing Games, Torn Asunder is for that friend of yours that won’t shut up about Dark Souls; for that dad who’s way into old-school wargames and complains that hiking and climbing are streamlined into skill checks; or that guy at the FLGS with the grey ponytail who keeps recycling the same worn-out stories of AD&D. ...

It's a sad day, because today is the last of our six previews of the Pathfinder 2nd Edition iconic pregenerated characters. But the full playtest is out very soon! Anyhow, today we have Ezren, the human wizard. Amusing factoid -- although Ezren looks old he's only 42, which makes him younger than may people who have played him. Incorrect use of "begs the question." Here's a hypothetical for discussion: what if a player wants to not just jump 20 across turns', but also wants to land on an outcrop 50' down on the other side? How do you rule this? When does the fall take place, or is there even a fall?

You still can't have more than two attack actions (speed flurry is one attack action), so you'd have to use the third action for something else. Dual wielding is the specific exception to that.

Depends on the character. Some are human and get great weapon master by lvl 5, then increase Str. Others wait until level 9 if they are a different race. As I said, I've played several different versions of the tank-lock. Doing enough damage to be a threat hasn't been a problem - this isn't a theory, this is a fact. :)

"And that the walls can hold the giant. And that we can keep the doors closed. And that we can make fire big and strong enough to quickly burn wet building. And finally, you assume they would try to save the Chief. It is a good idea, but too many moving parts. Do we have silence or skeep, some way to disable the orcs without alergije the giant?" Ordrar looks almost sad that he cannot see the way...

You said that a game with no dice rolls would be a game in which, and I quote: I explained that not only could I imagine such a game, but that I frequently play them. I also explained that such a game would not be limited to results that were "always a success or always a failure" because they don't. Why is the goalpost now being moved to whether or not it's as popular as D&D? And...

Yeah, that's basically the way Strike! works, but then you're relegated to having powers which are basically either Role Powers (ick, what makes a power a 'defender' power particularly?) or Source based (not so bad, but still hard to do right IMHO). That might be cool, BUT it has the issue of resource models. That is it is hard to see how a Stalwart and a Specialist would both live on the...

No, that was an oft-repeated willful misinterpretation by h4ters engaged in rampant, and intellectually dishoest edition warring. (Thankfully, the edition war is over, so anyone repeating such now can be charitably assumed to merely be misinformed or mis-remembering). Exploits were not magical in the 'conventional' sense* of supernatural, but the were capable of superhuman feats and...

From memory, in the 4e PHB1 when explaining the martial power source it was called out as magical, just not in the traditional sense of casting spells so even the martial power source was supernatural.

I’d look at the level of party the adventure/monster is meant for, and guesstimate such a PC’s Charisma save. Then I’d figure out the percentage chance of at least one PC being thus charmed. Or possibly the percentage chance of two PCs being thus charmed simultaneously. Then, if the monster is intended to be encountered solo, I’d calculate the effective #of PCs (in the DMG encounter...

We now have 10 players, with room for at least 10 more (EGG said a campaign could handle up to 4-50 players!). We play on Discord. The intent is to have 2-5 sessions of 2-4 hrs duration, with 3-5 players in each session. We've had two sessions thus far, and four sessions scheduled across this upcoming Thu, Sat, and Sun. If interested, send me an email at lloydbaker2 at gmail dot com.

No one should have to. Factually false is factually false. No Pre-Essentials power created an aura, the power you're alluding to, Rain of Steel, was not an aura or a Zone - Dispel Magic would have had no effect on it. Anyone with stealth could gain the invisible tag. It just means you can't be seen, not that light is magically passing through you. He didn't have to actually say a...

Nope. Prophecy is too much of a mixed bag. There are some that do it wonderfully, especially if its subtle and the "Chosen One" doesn't find out they're such until later on and then has to go on a journey of self-discovery because they now feel like their entire life is a lie and nothing they accomplished was actually of their own making. The number one bad plot device is: BABIES! (and by...

4e is definitely designed around the Encounter. However by giving every Daily powers then it is still not balanced around going indefinitely. It would be like a party of martial characters, none of whom have Daily abilities, adventuring indefinitely until they ran out of Hps. Sure you could do it in theory. OK, so how would this game look like in practice? You have your Players all set...

My interpretation of Sanctuary is that it makes enemies simply not notice you (kind of like in Neil Gaiman's "Neverwhere"). So if the caster intentionally draws attention to himself I wouldn't end the spell, but the creatures targeted will no longer have to make saving throws. Yes, because...as explained above...the creature wouldn't notice the caster without making a save.

For me, it has nothing to do with ending your turn in mid-air. That doesn't bother me at all. For me, it's that, to be permissible, the player's declared action for their turn should be within the character’s capability. The action declaration, “I leap across the chasm”, is fine when the character has enough movement to get across on this turn. The same action declaration doesn’t work in my...
