It looks like you are quoting me with 'logically more consistent' but I don't actually see where I said that in the post you quoted :erm: Uhm, I didn't say it can't and I never said there aren't. You don't seem to be addressing what I actually wrote. Then I would argue your entire premise seems based on some biased assumptions.

I had the same thoughts... unless these new actions options are allowed only to the PCs, they don't remove the fact that, as long as the turn-based initiative continues, the PCs can really move away only if they all have higher speed than the monsters, otherwise the monsters always catch up. I think that it might be better to look into chase rules when the whole PC party (or the monsters...

Just that the wormholes aren't part of a starship, they are external, a starship travels through them. Another advantage of this set up is you can have stars in three dimensional space, yet represent them on a two dimensional map, as this map only shows the systems and the connecting wormholes, this is representational, not a physical relationship shown on this map.

For one he does not have to be close to the Paladin who are only real threats in melee. Dropping stuff like stinking cloud on him works fine, all he needs to do is lock the paladin down then start smashing him. Same with clerics. And yes he can easily attack then withdraw. He attacks using his action then teleports away using a legendary action.

With Jeovanna stepping back from a westwards scouting, Dain has his moment to focus more closely on what lies ahead. In the distance his torch and the floor’s searing red pockmarks dimly illuminate the space. Cobwebs, some old and abandoned, sticky threads locked with once floating particles of ash and stoot. Others would appear fresh to him, spun not so very long ago. Watching, all is quiet...

A lot of gamers have been anxious for more character options for 5th Edition, with the official releases just whetting the appetite. Even Xanathar’s Guide to Everything barely quenched the continual desire for splat. The Heroes Handbook should help alleviate that, providing a wealth of balanced options for the game. "Categorizing spells" is one of those unsolvable RPG problems that people have been debating for decades. Personally, I like the way Monte Cooke's Arcana Evolved did it. Instead of lists, the spells had keywords, and your class gave you access to all spells with certain keywords. A spell could have multiple keywords. For example, a cleric might have access to all , , and spells, and then if...

I like to create the illusion of difficulty. I mainly did this in 4e with lots of minions. You can do the same thing sorta with low lvl "minions" in 5e. The system is rather forgiving with the pop up mechanics of healing downed players. I support most of the above suggestions. If the encounter is a solo baddie be prepared for the pc's to make very short work of him/her, hence minions. ...

I'm also betting that the failure clock is almost always the smaller of the two. This is just a basic...

Not to be argumentative, but the rule has always been that specific overrides general. The spell text, which I included, includes the specific reference that the volume is 33,000 cubic feet or yards. That says, quite clearly, that for this spell the radius/volume scales. So yeah, Fireball is the exception in that volume does go up outdoors.

If I'm not mistaken, that is the 1e art. I also like how they are again reconciling disparate things from previous editions to make a coherent story. Moloch was mentioned in a couple of 3e products as being nothing more than an imp; here, they take that and make it so that, yes, that's true, but he's also able to appear in his normal, powerful form.
