Perhaps it would help us understand your position better if we had more insight into how your game is played. How does your table know exactly what class is organically being gained? Is it done through table consensus, like "What does everyone think? Have I been acting more like a Barbarian or a Ranger lately?" or does the DM assign classes based on how he thinks the characters have been acting,...

Quite true. Also true by RAW, which only points out how poor the RAW are in this instance in that no matter what you do you end up with a problem; be it the problem of unexplainably fast recovery or the problem of no serious injury without death. And both problems are quite easy to solve at once with just a paragraph or two in one of the PH or DMG introducing rules for much slower recovery...

Unless you're imagining what I've said again, I think you've misused "hypocritical" pretty badly, here. Also, I never claimed your table wasn't worth playing at. I would say Kensai and Drunken Master qualify at the least. Open Hand is debatable (they do have that sanctuary effect); but considering ki tends to be flavored as self-contained I think you could make the argument that all Monk archetypes could qualify. The Dwarven Battlerager should certainly qualify as well from Barbarian, if not again all of them (depending on if we want to say, non-magical...

Exactly. Let me clarify. Rituals take place in one hour increments. Each hour, every participant in the ritual may cast one spell, be it the primary or a secondary. So if there's only one caster, the ritual will require one hour per spell involved. Two casters? one hour for every two spells, with fractions rounded up. Three casters? One hour for every three spells required, again...

I suppose it depends on other factors (like your definition of, um, hit points), but open hand, for example, is as close as you reasonably get to non-magical in 5e. I think you have to cabin "non-magical" to "doesn't cast spells."

I don't like the idea of a cleric/warlock multiclass for the same reason I dont like the Paladin/warlock multiclass. The devotion a cleric gives to their god(or oath in the paladin's case), will not allow them to serve 2 masters. Also one thing that people don't consider is the mental state of a cleric. You're someone chosen by your god to receive the blessings of your god. Actually, it's...

The players write their own script for their characters' lines (i.e. what their characters actually say) and provide stage direction for what the characters do (their in-game actions) and how they move (where they go within the game world). That's almost infintely more agency than an actor has on a movie set or a stage. Yet again, you're falsely seeing player agency level only in terms of how...

I actually am only describing it that way because my understanding of your views is that is how you would see it. I don't necessarily allow player authorship of fictional elements through action declaration. I'm not necessarily against that in theory, and I may allow it in some ways (establishing a contact through some kind of Diplomacy or Gather Information check would be a good example)....
