I'm not sure how you can have no opinion on it. Assuming downtime happens in your campaign, you have to deal with its mechanics at some point. What I am asking, I guess, is how the different pillars of the game interact with the idea of arbitrary DM rulings when certain pillars have specific rulings tied to them.

Mord took the opportunity and quickly ushered the Mordguard out of sight so as to be out of mind. A small smile lit on his lips as he descended having basically pulled the wool over the man's eyes so smoothly. With luck he'd be able to keep them out of trouble until they had left the city.

I would say that you have to think of published DCs as tied to a particular approach to a goal that has an uncertain outcome and a meaningful consequence of failure. So when I see something like "When you land in difficult terrain, you must succeed on a DC 10 Dexterity (Acrobatics) check to land on your feet. Otherwise, you land prone." Then the implied goal and approach is, broadly, "try to keep...

I find the hexblade as a class to be a lot of fun, but the hexblade as a patron to be... obscure. What does it even want? Is it just an intermediary of the Raven Queen? You can find my full review on my channel, but I will say here is that Finders Keepers is one of only a few 20th level adventurers. Part of the reason for this is both the epic nature, scope and all the powers present that both the players and dungeon master wields. It can be very easy to either underwhelm your players or utterly destroy them. Finders Keepers manages this balance well.

What is HD, in this context? Why would you divide the damage by 3, in your example? Rolling the attack and the damage together is a common trick from speeding up play. Using the margin of failure as a modifier that allows some missed attacks to become glancing blows is another matter altogether, and I can't imagine it being anything but a giant mess.

If you divide the damage by 3(2), and add the result to the hit die, you then have a hit, at the reduced damage of 2, rather than 6. You could call it a glancing blow. Has anyone else tried this? You're being circular. I've asked you to define nature and you keep telling me unnatural means not in nature. Again, define nature. For bonus points, do so in context of the fae and iron.

Assuming you used the 2E material where you can? For example the create helm spells being non combat related are probably fine. 5E has siege weapons in the DMG and while basic 5E also has stats for some vehicles so you could either convert so some sort of ship based combat rules would be useful assuming you on't just more or else recycle the 2E one. You can probably port in a lot of rules...

Both good idea's... I have to look at the moon druid rules, but I doubt displacer beasts work with it (Yes I know 'shadow cats' in the books are not displacer beasts but D&D is much more magical). I went with Charisma because I figure you are forcing your personality into someone or something else...

You can make it what you want. I can deal with it. Undying doesnít MEAN evil, but having to deal with a patron who wants things I donít can be great roll play.

Yes! Moog would have described that her Husbands name is Hruk. He is always covered in dung and swarmed by flies.

Good for you for recognizing it. So many times the good forum goers have shown me the errors of my ways. My games are far better for it.

Do you believe in parallel evolution? If you believe that, then their are humans on other planets, just like in Star Trek.

I didn't politicize it, other people did that. Was not my fault that other people wanted to make a political point and pass on the "white guilt."

Tommi is levelled up, following scout in XGTE (as planned). Also, a question. I'm wondering if you'd consider allowing him some retraining. I'm finding it awkward to use Guidance as a cantrip in online games (a problem I've encountered before) because of the asynchronous play. I'm wondering if you'd consider letting him substitute (now, or at the beginning of his next level) either Druidcraft...

Interesting. I Probably would have used the Moon druid wildshape requirements (minus elementals) for what animals you can Warg into. I also would probably have the number of Animals that can be bound related to Wisdom rather than Charisma as Wisdom traditionally governs Animal Handling.

Standing long jump is generally 1/2 your strength score. So, a 20 strength PC could normally do a 10 foot jump without rolling anything. If the PCwanted to jump 50%(!) farther than that, it would be a pretty amazing feat. If they want to clear the entire 15 feet with their feet, I'd likely call that a near impossible check - meaning a DC 30 athletics check would be required. Near impossible...
