Dec 02, 2008 - 7:12 PM - by Truth Seeker IV
Newsarama:Marvel’s latest round of solicitations offered a look at new project centering on a different kind of super group. We’re talking supermodels, and they’ve been kicking around the Marvel Universe for much longer than you might expect. They’ll be congregating in Models Inc. (no relation to the third series in the 90210 franchise, or, as I pretend Matt Brady likes to call it, the Dylanverse) written by Paul Tobin, with art by Vicenc Villagrassa.
So who are the models that populate the Marvel Universe that will be calling Models Inc. home in February? Here’s a brief look at the careers of Marvel’s cover girls in both history and continuity.

| Bernardin's wildstorm push for comics |
Dec 02, 2008 - 7:08 PM - by Truth Seeker IV
Comic Con/The PULSE:Marc Bernardin and Adam Freeman were sent the Push script one night and asked to give their thoughts about the film to WildStorm editor Scott Peterson the next morning. Their ideas of what to do with a potential prequel comic leading up to that anticipated film must have struck a chord with Peterson, because the duo found themselves scripting the six issue series. The Push prequel reveals details about the mysterious Division and the renegade psychics trying to avoid them at any and all costs. Bernardin told THE PULSE Push will be different from other prequels. He said, "This isn't one of those prequels that picks a character that has little to no impact on the property at large and telling his story. What happens to Ezra as he learns the truth about Division and who's running it is a direct extension of the film."

Comics Worth Reading:This volume continues Usagi’s struggle to find her place in the world now that her clan has been destroyed. One decision that she’s made is to leave behind her life as a ninja and become a professional herbalist. Ueda’s excellent storytelling continues as Usagi is confronted with two great challenges. The first is learning to navigate this new and strange world of the Japanese feudal court. It’s a world where deference and biting your tongue are the highest virtues. Only the most powerful people are permitted to be open and honest in their expressions. Usagi finds she needs to learn new forms of stealth and discipline. For someone as outspoken as Usagi, this is providing as challenging as any of the physical demands of her ninja training. (I’m reminded of a line from Mark Heard’s song “Hold Back Your Tears”, “a frank and honest face could well destroy society.”)

CBR News: In 1992, Marc Silvestri founded Top Cow Productions, Inc., one of six studios that comprised the newly formed independent publisher, Image Comics. Silvestri’s “Cyberforce” was one of Image’s launch titles, and it started off the fledging Top Cow with a bang. Eventually, strayed away from its superhero roots to create what have since become the pillars of the company, “The Darkness” and “Witchblade,” which also facilitated a rise to prominence of the late, great Michael Turner, just one of the many young artists Top Cow helped develop.

| BEHIND THE ECLIPSE: Week 9 |
Dec 02, 2008 - 4:33 PM - by Truth Seeker IV
Welcome back, “Heroes” fans, for the ninth week of BEHIND THE ECLIPSE, Comic Book Resources’ exclusive question-and-answer session with “Heroes” writers/producer Aron Coliete and Joe Pokaski!
The titular eclipse of “The Eclipse, Part I” affected heroes and villains both last week, as the entire cast lost their abilities, which led to dire situations and some very funny gestures. Mohinder cocooned himself inside the Pinehearst facilities, only to emerge perfectly normal. Matt Parkman found out exactly what Daphne was running from after he followed the story in a comic book to a cornfield in Kansas. Peter proved it doesn’t take super powers to read a map while he and Nathan searched Haiti for The Haitian. Sylar and Elle hunted down the catalyst, better known as Claire Bennet, who was busy learning the similarities between fighting and baseball from her dad. And Hiro and Ando managed to find a comic book store in the middle of Kansas for the most hallow of events, New Comic Book Wednesday!
Don’t forget to catch last night’s new episode on NBC, “The Eclipse, Part II,” also written by Aron Coliete and Joe Pokaski, who take us behind “The Eclipse, Part 1” in this week’s edition of… BEHIND THE ECLIPSE!

Zap2it/It Happened Last Night:It may seem a little incongruous to have a Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles episode start at a New Year's Eve speakeasy party with a bunch of flappers, but that's exactly what we were treated to last night. It all seemed so great and special, right up until a fire began and everyone started running for the exit. That sort of thing puts a damper on parties, even New Year's Eve ones.
