So I think we should take some time to speculate as to what the crap Anders thought he was doing, as we have obviously lost the oppertunity to ask him.
The 'treasure' which is currently exploding appears to be some sort of drakespowder.
What is drakespowder doing in the leger?
Why was Anders moving it?
Did he know it was drakespowder, or did he think it was something else?
If so, why?
How do we prevent all of it from exploding in the next 6 seconds?
Then there is Anders himself.
Why would Anders sabatoge the city to be overrun by the draconids?
Did he think he was working for the king, or was he actively working for the draconids?
Why are all Talon Horselords such jerks?
What did Anders serve to gain by toppling the tower?
What did he serve to gain by letting Caer Albion become overrun?
Since death finger or whatever Jansten did to him turned him into a pile o' dust we can't even speak with dead can we? Spell states the corpse talks....
I don't think Finger of Death turns the body into ashes. That's how Archonus died, remember?
You're thinking of Discintegrate.
I have no idea what the actual death spell was -reason I phrased the question as I did and called it 'death finger or whatever Jansten did'.... Jansten pointed his finger and according to Kennon a blackness seeped through him turning him to ash and then to a pile of dust (he said it more elequently obviously though)
So no I don't think it is Finger of Death then, but I don't know.
Well Kennon, what spell was it? Is there still a body there? I realize that there soon won't be if we don't stop this fire. Drakespowder does nothing for the complexion.
For the moment, there's still a body there, burning, slumped over a burning legerbook.

Shifty eye.... this could help solve the fire issue, but probably not solve it completely

Quench is often used to put out forest fires and other conflagrations. It extinguishes all nonmagical fires in its area. The spell also dispels any fire spells in its area, though you must succeed on a dispel check (1d20 +1 per caster level, maximum +15) against each spell to dispel it. The DC to dispel such spells is 11 + the caster level of the fire spell.
Each elemental (fire) creature within the area of a quench spell takes 1d6 points of damage per caster level (maximum 15d6, no save allowed).
Alternatively, you can target the spell on a single magic item that creates or controls flame. The item loses all its fire-based magical abilities for 1d4 hours unless it succeeds on a Will save. (Artifacts are immune to this effect.)
I think if we can get the legerbook, it could give us some of the info that we're missing on Anders.
Like what? What do you think you can find there?

Darn it Kennon- is it possible to move the last three posts over to the correct thread? Or just delete and we can repost them there.... I was copying into the wrong one! Sorry guys!
To answer Gertie... that was the shifty eye, asI have no idea currently- have to find the sheet with all the check marks. I want to say yes, but that's just cause I know she has had it in past having seen the fun of fireballs and tourches and flame blades and trees crashing and such

That's perfect! The fire, though magical in origin, is now non-magical. It should solve the problems. Does L'Aurel have it prepared?
The leger is the book, the stuff is moving in and out of the SAFE. The leger tracks the kingdoms debts and leins, while the vaults would hold some of the physical wealth of the kingdom.

The items contained therein might give us a clue as to what Anders was looking for.
The chests are all stacked up, locks unopened, in relatively neat piles. The vault door stands open.

It's pretty unlikely that the leger for the vaults has entries for drakespowder in, drakespowder out, etc. That kind of thing would be madness - why would you keep drakespowder in the kingdom's vaults?
What you can learn from this place may not be so obvious that it can found scrawled across a page.
Why was Anders here? And what was he doing? Did he know what he was doing? If what he was doing and what he thought he was doing were not the same things, how was he fooled? Who fooled him? If he was behind the tower explosion, shouldn't he have been running? Hiding?
There may not be answers, but there are things at which you can guess...clues that will help you deduce what you cannot simply be told.

Since the body is there- it did not change correct? Like turn into a snake or horribly scaly being correct? The rest of us may be to far away to see, but Archonus is right there.
Even if the ledgers don't tell us anything specific they are here and thus we should put them in the bag of holding.
So what's happened:
-Mages were spying on us and tried to cast something on us in the tower (Did anyone get the spell? I know Jansten saw them, but...?)
-The tower was sabotaged and drakes powder placed at it's base thus in a timed explosion causing the tower to fall
-One of the mages in his fright said Anders was behind it all
-The guards from the Council were sent away from the building by Anders
-Anders was in a room with draconids
-Anders is in a room with barrels of drakes powder
Since the body is there- it did not change correct? Like turn into a snake or horribly scaly being correct? The rest of us may be to far away to see, but Archonus is right there.
It still looks like a half-orc, slumped over a book.
