The Game Master Foundation is an oasis in the Role Playing Game community for all Game Masters
to discuss, practice, and share the ideas of their games
with the most recognized and passionate individuals of the hobby - other Game Masters.
The mission of the GMF is to help and promote the talents of creator, writer, storyteller, rules master, judge, and leader. To have the passion to develop and maintain such diverse talents requires a rare spirit that burns bright. A bright light that is willing to assume the labor of love of becoming a Game Master. The Game Master Foundation recognizes and promotes that spirit.
Behold and welcome! Before you stands the Game Master's Foundation! The GMF has been existant since September 2004 and has finally found a wonderful home at ENWorld with it's own hosted forum.
I am the Chaos Evoker, founder of the GMF.
Welcome to the GMF. Here is where you shoudl post your request to join. Such a request should include the types of RPGs you have played/are playing and how many years of experience you have had GMing.
Do not be ashamed to admit inexperience, in fact one of my original intents for creating the GMF was to help new GMs. That has so far been our greatest accomplishment, to help new GMs. I do not believe we will achieve anything greater than that fact becuase a good GM equals a good game. Bringing a better gaming session to PCs around the world is a task to which there is no greater.
However, expereinced GMs are welcome too. We need you to help the inexperienced GMs. Multiple insights on an issue are always good to have. Plus, even experienced GMs have troubles sometimes.
In summary, ENWorlders wishing to join need to sign up here. We hope you'll find a great and welcoming foundation. Welcome to the GMF

Vision Statement
Our goal is to help Game Masters realize their vision and achieve their potential. To do this we will provide a forum to promote the exchange of knowledge, the development of skills, and the ability to enjoy such pursuits among like-minded peers. We will develop resources that provide tools, knowledge,
and creative ideas for Game Masters.
The success we achieve will be the endless hours of gaming our members enjoy.

Salutations...been DMing since 1985...been playing since 1984...strictly D&D...but I've dabbled in Warhammer RPG, BattleTech, CyberPunk, Marvel RPG, Warhammer Table Top, L5R, etc. Count me in...
Greetings Saladin,
we are happy to have you join. Pull up a virtual chair, share your stories and your wisdom, you are among peers in the craft of Game Mastering.
I'm pretty new at this. I have been GMing online and in real life since 2003. I have played d20 modern, d20 future, 3.0 and 3.5 D&D as well as d20 Call of Cthulhu and d20 Warhammer 40K. I have also played Inquisitor and Warhammer RPG. I have been roleplaying since 2002. (Everyone tells me I missed the Golden Days of AD&D)
I enjoy GMing because I love watching my players interact with my custom built worlds (I use my own settings as often as possible). I emphasize roleplaying and character building over hack-and-slash.

Welcome lonesoldier!
Both to EN World, and to the GMF. On the EN World side of things, there is a wide variety of things to check out. I am partial to some of the Story hours because they allow me to see how other people construct stories and adjudicate things in-game. The GMF is great for offering focused advice on how to be a better GM. Don't be shy, you may be relatively new to the hobby, but that doesn't make your thoughts and experiences any less valid. You just don't have the nostalgia that some of us do. Jump into a conversation. Vent about a problem you are having, or offer some advice that the rest of us can learn from.
Well, I played the old Red/Blue/Gold box D&D back in grade school, then moved up to AD&D through Jr. High School. Now in my 30's, I've just restarted playing within the last year. I was always the DM/GM back in the day and I've just started my first 3.5 campaign in Eberron.
I'm working to adjust from the old hack 'n slash muchkin days of my youth to more story driven plots with real characters and a deep backstory. It is a difficult adjustment, especially working with PC motivations other than "kill, get loot," but it has been a fun start.
Red, Blue, and Gold are all "versions" of Pokemon. Different editions of the game that had slight differences. There were others like "Silver" and "Crystal"
I used to play the game back in the middle school days...it shivers me to the core now...

Meh, I don't see why every one has to hate on pokemon, just because it was over publisized dosn't make it a bad game. Even my dad liked it, and in fact he still likes it... It gets old after a while, but it is undeniably fun-

(Why do I even bother? We all know you're gonna' click on the spoiler.)
Spoiler:
The truly sick thing about pokemon is how adictive it is. The game is stupid, I know it's stupid, but I just... can't ... stop once... I've picked... it up. Stupid... corny adictiveness... I loathe you.. and love you... at the same... time!
