[RPGNow! - please read] It isn't often I admit I was wrong, but...

I'm sure that if you've hung out on these boards for a very long time, you might remember a few months ago when I was representing Dark Portal Games and I made a big public issue about the fact that RPGNow! had changed their policy regarding whether or not to link back to PDF publishers whose product they carried if that publisher had an E-commerce site set up. As part of my protest, I posted the letter to these boards that was sent to us, and I made some damning remarks about the way the RPGNow! was trying to do business.

I want to say that even though I chose to part ways with them at that time and I later chose to step down from Dark Portal Games, it was a mistake for me to go public with my complaints with RPGNow! I should have made a better attempt to resolve the issue with RPGNow! and I should not have made this into a public issue.

Since I originally made this a public issue, I am posting my apology publicly. Whether they choose to accept it or not is their decision, and I don't blame them a bit if they don't want to accept it in light of what I said. I also take sole responsibility for this decision and don't feel that the incident should reflect upon DPG.

I also want to state that RPGNow! offers a number of services that do a great deal to strengthen the industry. The most obvious is the fact that they provide a place for new people to publish. Aside from that, they offer to burn purchases to CD for customers, they have begun a print on demand program, they spend a great deal of money advertising in periodicals such as Dragon, and there's the newly announced guide to help new publishers get started and avoid some of the publishing pitfalls. These are all extremely valuable services to a new publisher, and I feel that in light of this, and the complete fool I made of myself over this incident, I completely misjudged them and their intentions, and owe them a heartfelt apology.

I also want to say that I just spent about $25 there a week ago, and I will spend my money there again in the future.

Hey is everyone just completing their 12 step program or is it just the Season? Just kidd'n... anyway, I or my companies have nothing to gain by holding grudges. We appreciate your appology and it is of course excepted.

Have a Happy New Year!

I'm assuming that you meant "accepted", and that wasn't a Freudian slip.
