Can I cut up my PDFs?

I have a couple of PDFs. There are some parts of them that I use more often then others and it's annoying to have to look through them to find what I'm looking for. Is there a way for me to 'cut out' the good parts and then remake them into one new DM file?

I'm pretty much computer ilitarete so you'll have to explain it a bit in detail.

The way I see it you have two options

1) Only print the sections you use and compile them in a folder.

2) Copy and paste into a word processor.

I have Adobe Acrobat, not Acrobat Reader. That being said, in Acrobat, you can delete pages by going under Document->Delete Pages. I'd save the file as something else first, so you don't lose anything while you edit.

If you're using Acrobat, nd not just acrobat reader, you can also go to Document -->Extract Pages, and select the range of pages you want. Do NOT delete the pages after extraction. That will open a new pdf with just the extracted pages. Then, if you need to, after saving all of your extracted documents, you can open them up, and use Document --> Insert Pages, allowing you to create a master file.
If you're just using acrobar reader, well, you're probably stuck with copying and pasting, but I couldn't tell you for sure.

I think that reader has an export to text option that can be used to facilitate this - but it's a b***h.

However, many publishers have the procedure of locking the PDF to copying or editing, and allowing printing and viewing only, making this problematic. THe only solution there is a really nice screen capture, but that offers low resolution.

If there's one dragon, it's a solo monster.
If there's five dragons, they're standard monsters.
If there's a dozen dragons, either most of them are minions or your DM is tired of the campaign.

I have yet to see a pdf locked to copying and if I did I wouldn't buy another one from that publisher. How am I supposed to use their stuff in my adventures retype it, I don't think so - that's why I buy pdf.

There are very very few d20 publishers that lock their PDFs. I think the number might be counted on a single hand.

Even the Game Mechanics stopped protecting their PDFs with the modern player's companion release.
