I need your help! I am working on a little project that might be of interest to some of you. It is basically an aid to help people who don't have the time to create an in-depth background story for their character, or those people who just don't have a good idea.
Anyway, what I need are some old character background stories that you have written. They must be completely original works of your own creation. They can be anywhere from about half a page to three pages. Feel free to XXXX out the names of people, towns, etc, as they won't be used anyway. Please post these stories over at the
jhanson.com General discussion forum, along with an email address as which I can contact you. Feel free to write out the email address like "Name AT Whatever DOT Com", so that the spambots don't pick it up. If you don't feel comfortable posting the email address on the board, you can email me the submissions (in the body of the email) through the Contact Me link on the
jhanson.com site.
I will pick out my favorite character backgrounds, and then contact you with the details of what I plan to do with them. At that time, you can decide whether or not you want to let me use it. The people whose stories qualify as my favorites, and who also let me use their submissions will be credited in the product, and will also (of course) receive a free copy of it. It is Windows-based, so if you're exclusively Linux or Mac-based, the free copy won't do you much good. It might run under WINE on Linux, but there's no guarantees...
The deadline for submissions is May 30th, but I might cut it short if I get enough that I like before that point. So in other words, get them in quick!
