Locating OGC

Other than:

a) Buying and reading everything that comes out.
b) Simply asking here (of the D20 'board)

Is there a good way to keep track on OGC, so if I were looking for -- say -- insanity rules, I might know whose product to check out?

Not so much big issues like 'supers' or 'vehicles' that would be pretty simple to research, but more smaller touches that you won't necessarily find as a selling point for a book.

I have no objection in investing in someone's product if it's gonna be useful, I'm just wonderin' if there is a website or something the specialises in keeping track of this kinda stuff!

Even if there were such a website, you would still be better off asking here since you don't just want insanity rules. You want insanity rules that someone would recommend. If there are 4 different insanity rulesets floating around and nobody uses two of them, you don't really want to know about them, probably. Asking for recommendations is better than a website with just a list of products that meet a keyword search. This method would also find you that 5th and 6th set of rules that don't call it insanity, calling it psychology and psyche profile.

I would ask your question on the general discussion forum for best results.

And now that I've bored you with a long response, I don't know of any insanity rules that are OGL.

Down on the list: seemingly real close to releasing a notebook essential. It's in layout! Has been for months now. (Just nod politely so I won't cry about this.)

Didn't Netherland Games (now called something different, I believe), makers of the Primal Codex, also do a supplement on mental issues & insanity? That'd likely have (probably) OGC rules on insanity. (It was a pdf product some time back).

Not that that isn't a hypothetical example, but in case you really were looking...

I like the idea of a website, actually. Even if it does just list rulesets to be found in different products, you can then search for reviews; or the rules themselves could have ratings.

Cheers
Nell.

Actually, there are insanity rules in the revised monster manual (I think under the Derro). So if they make it to the Revised SRD there will be "official" insanity rules. (Just received my books today.)
