Playtest Leads Needed

Bards and Sages publishes a variety of fantasy roleplaying products designed for use in the d20 system. Many of our products are specifically designed to easily integrate into existing campaign settings. The company is currently recruiting Playtester Leads to help insure that the products are functional in “real world” game scenarios.

Position Details:
Playtester Lead: A Playtester Lead would be responsible for organizing playtesting sessions and filling out reports. Reports cover game mechanics, game balance, OGL compliance, and clarity of written content. Playtester Lead may recruit potential playtesters from his or her own pool of players, or recruit players via alternate means such as hobby shop bulletin boards.

Playtest participants in the Lead’s group will receive a free PDF of the finished product when it is released, and receive a playtester credit in the final product. Note that playtesters will be required to sign a non-disclosure statement (giving us permission to send hordes of kobolds after them should they reveal any secrets).

Playtester Leads are encouraged to communicate with each other regarding sessions, and to share ideas as to how to correct potential problems with a supplement. Playtester Leads are also encouraged to offer editorial comment on supplements regarding issues that, while they did not come up during actual gameplay, could be problems under certain conditions. Playtester Leads will also be able to communicate directly with writers in order to quicker clarification of issues.

Potential Candidates:
*A solid understanding of the d20 game mechanic
*Strong communication skills
*the ability to meet deadlines

Compensation:
Because we recognize that the Lead position requires someone willing to accept a bit more responsibility than a typical playtester, we have instituted the following compensation package.

Free e-mail account. You will receive a free e-mail account (yourname@bardsandsages.com) This e-mail address is primarily to facilitate official Bards and Sages business, however the Playtest Lead is free to use it for personal business so long as the address is not used for illegal activities or activities that undermine the credibility of Bards and Sages (i.e. posting a fake review to a friend’s product or pretending to represent the company in an official capacity for fraudulent purposes). Playtester Leads are expected to use the address in Good Faith, and are advised that the administrator will have administrative access to it.

Free products. Playtest Leads will get a free PDF copy of all products they work on. After working on three products, the Playtest Lead may request any one print product produced by Bards and Sages for free. A complete list of our print products can be seen at our print distribution partner.

RPGNOW credits: We will transfer $5 into your RPGNOW account for every product that you successfully complete. This money can be used toward any purchases at the RPGNOW site.
