Project DAEDRA
Project DAEDRA
What is project DAEDRA?
Project Daedra is a ambitious and first project of mine. It will be a d20 based system built for use of role-playing in the Elder Scrolls universe built 100% for it from the ground up taking ideas from other ideas twisting and re-painting them for what I need. See Also Why not use D&D or another RPG instead?
Why DAEDRA?
Daedra are a group of enemies in the Elder Scrolls games especially in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I decided to coin it’s name for the project as it sounded cool and would be easy to refer to. That and the obvious link to what I want to create.
Bit ambitious for a first project don’t you think?
Of course! But I have house ruled D&D to my taste in my group and want a challenging fun and learning experience.
Why not use D&D or another RPG?
Because, 1. Then I wouldn’t have something fun to do. 2. I wanna see IF I can do this. 3. None of the systems I’ve looked at are quite what I want, and so I am forced to mash them together and see what it looks like.
What systems do you actually play or own?
I play or own books for the following:
·D&D 3.5
·D&D 4e
·D20 Modern
·Star Wars Saga Edition
·Star Wars D20
·Mutants and Masterminds
Can I help, comment or provide feed back?
Depends, yes and Defiantly.
If you wish to help pm me and say what you may be able to help with this can range from mechanics to re-writing fluff or art for the eventual pdf. All commenting whether from a this is cool to a this is terrible are appreciated. This is a learning experience for me. Feedback is also welcomed and if you provide it try and detail as much as possible... then I don’t have to stab in the dark at what you guys think will make DAEDRA better.
I still don’t understand what do you want to achieve?
I would like to create a d20 based system that is:
1.Worth money, yet free.
2.Fun, easy and understandable.
3.True to the Elder Scrolls games as much as possible.
4.Combines a number of mechanical elements that make it awesome.
Other aims for the project are to:
1.Just see if I can do this.
2.Improve my writing skills
3.Establish my abilities at house ruling and adapting rules.
4.Have fun!

Sounds like an interesting project. I was wondering on what part of Elder Scrolls you'd base it on though, because for example the atmosphere for Morrowind is (to me) completely different to Oblivion. Just curious

Are you trying to stick to TES mechanically or more flavor-wise? Because adding more ability scores, making it classless, and dealing with their armor system could be hassles... I tried it once, then decided to build a space combat system based on MoO3 instead.Posted 7th October 2008 at 05:11 PM by hollowleg
