The inlaws and the slideshow.

Posted 11th July 2008 at 07:56 PM by WanderingMonster
My future inlaws came over for a short visit the other night. I fired up Picasa and went through a slideshow of various pictures they hadn't seen. The pics included vacations, various and sundry birthdays, and a scantily-clad medusa.

"Go back to that naked one!" shouts my future dad-inlaw.

Oy.

They don't know I'm a gamer, just because it hasn't come up. Now I know better to segregate my pr0n from the family pictures, but I don't apply the same strict standards to game props/visual aids. In this case, the medusa is the BBG of the game.

I suppose I could have broken the ice right then and there by explaining that I played D&D and that was a picture of one of the villains. But the fact was I didn't want to dwell on the fact that the image was racy. Both the gaming and my monster-pr0n in one shot might be too much for these folk to handle.

Of course, maybe not. They're both cool and I got hugs and handshakes when they left regardless. Still, I have to wonder if there was a less-lame way to say "it's not pr0n, and we're moving on" without making me seem guilty of something.
