Thank you ENnies judges and congratulations fellow nominees! Inkwell Ideas is of course very proud to be nominated for our DungeonMorph Dice: Explorer Set. (Mini connectable dungeon designs on 1" dice.) These are improved versions of our prior dice which have fewer defects (which is hard to do with so much detail) and a nicer stonework pattern. We also revised our Adventurer and Spellunker dice sets, but only submitted the Explorer set for nomination.

...Paizo is "the man"? Geez, the pendulum has swung far from WOTC.

I'm hoping the small publishers get some love this year. All the art on the titles is fantastic. I'm going to have a hard time selecting the titles to vote for.

Glorantha's two-volume encyclopedia is the most detailed I've seen since Wilderlands of High Fantasy. Is this a setting that's been in video games? I'm a bit behind on settings, and I'll have to do some research.

Does someone over there not like Paizo? Did people forget that Fantasy Flight Games makes some excellent roleplaying games as well? I can think of many Paizo products that not only should be in most of these categories, but would also likely be the winner of their categories. Its odd that most every D&D product has been nominated, however Paizo makes 10 times the amount of supplements and products. Here's a couple areas where I just don't understand the nominations:

Best Adventure: Paizo's Adventure Paths continue to be some of the highest quality adventures the industry has ever seen. Compare any of these to the Queen of the Dragon Hoard which is just an average product at best (any adventure product that requires you to create adventure material to link up parts of their story is just sad -- many GM's buy these adventures so they don't have to spend a lot of time preparing and creating material). Additionally, Paizo has many great and high quality Adventure Modules which they create monthly.

Best Supplement: Paizo and Fantasy Flight, monthly continue banging out excellent high quality game supplement after game supplement. Yet, D&D gets their DM screen there? Seriously? This screen has 2.5 pages of content spread across 4 pages. Half of this content is irrelevant or seldom used content that could have been replaced with more frequently used content (i.e. Skill summaries/details, weapon tables, action summaries/details -- you know... all the stuff we are constantly looking up every play session). Sure the screen is "pretty looking", but there's better categories for it, if it's in there only for it's appearance.

Best Art Interior & Cover: Again, D&D is in both, but Paizo and FFG are no where to be seen, although their products are stuffed full of high quality art! Something doesn't sound right here?

Best Miniatures Product: D&D/WizKids' Icons of the Realms. Paizo's/WizKids' Pathfinder Battles pre-painted miniatures (ppm) product is far superior in every way. Better sculpts, and far more paint steps applied to their miniatures than on the D&D line. Paizo's quality control on their ppm's is second to none! Don't get me wrong, I think D&D's ppm's should be here, but Paizo's should have been on this list before D&D's. Paizo's exclusion from this category alone makes me wonder, "Has WotC paid someone off at ENWorld"?

Best RPG Related Product: Again, why is D&D here, and Paizo and FFG are not? WotC put out about 8 products last year, and they are all included in these categories. FFG put out over triple that in roleplaying products, and Paizo was likely put out 5x or more products.

Now don't get me wrong, I am not bashing the D&D products in general. 5th edition is a great product and provided the re-invigoration to the D&D brand that it needed, and it most certainly deserves to be in the Best Rules category. I can also appreciate that every category should not be dominated by all of the top 3-5 publishers. There are a lot of great products being made by smaller publishers, and I think many of the nominations above reflect that. I just don't understand how out of the top 3 publishers (Paizo, FFG, WotC), only 1 is consistently included in most of the categories yet the others are almost purposely excluded. This seems very odd to me.
