[h=3]Gods and Goddesses: A 5th Edition Supplement by Jetpack 7[/h]
(Campaign Ends : Friday March 3rd 2017; 16:10 UTC)

Jetpack 7 might be a new name in gaming but they have a lot of experience behind them. Jetpack 7 is the publishing, and original IP, division of Conceptopolis LLC who have worked on loads of well known brands such as Dungeons & Dragons (where they’ve contributed over 100 pieces of art to the latest 5th Edition books), Marvel Comics, DC Comics, G.I. Joe, Magic: The Gathering, Everquest, League of Legends and many more!

Having worked on the official Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition books and being fans of the game themselves it wasn’t a big leap for Jetpack 7’s first project to be a 5th Edition supplement.

Gods and Goddesses will feature classic deiies for use as a 5th Edition (OGL) supplement. Inside, you will find Cleric and Paladin player character options to bring in rich levels of diversity to your new or current game. Present them as “new gdo”, or as “old gods” that have returned to the world. It’s up to you. Change the course of events by inserting these new deities in with a surprising bang, or reveal them slowly over time.

These are contemporary portrayals of well known Gods and Goddesses of antiquity that can be inserted into any 5th Edition campaign setting. What better way to add some vibrant diversity to such a wonderful game? Certainly, some of the names will be familiar, but this is your world where you can find out how these news Gods and Goddesses will have an impact beyond what has ever been seen before.

The book itself will be 80+ pages, heavily illustrated (as you’d expect from an art studio), featuring 10+ Deities of Antiquity, 10+ Cleric Divine Domains and 10+ Paladin Sacred Oaths. The Gods and Goddesses included in the book are the following: Freya, Ishtar, Fugi, Nyneve (Lady of the Lake), Shiva, Inti, Tengri, Shango, Hekate, and Apollo. Further Gods may be added depending on Stretch Goals.

A free 3.5 edition conversion PDF for Gods and Goddesses will also be available to everyone who backs the campaign at $35 or more, if successfully funded.

I caught up with Aaron Hubrich, of Conceptopolis LLC, to find out what led up to this Kickstarter campaign…

We were very inspired by how well received the Baby Bestiary (volume 1 and 2) was for Andreas Walters (Metal Weave Games) in 2016. A light went on for sure, especially after the Baby Bestiary won those ENnie awards! We thought it was time to leverage what we knew and make an art book, featuring a diverse lineup of gods and goddesses - and that quickly evolved into making an actual game book players could use.

We had a lot of experience helping evolve the look of 5th Edition D&D for WoTC and have been players of D&D for years, so it just felt natural to make a 5th Edition OGL supplement. It seemed like a great fit and would be good timing, since the last official deities game supplement came out so long ago. We thought we could produce a new and unique version, and do it justice by having really good art and dialling in the design of the book to be worthy of a spot next to the current core books. And as gamers, we also wanted to make sure it had very solid content as well, bringing in vets Jim Pinto and Ben McFarland to add their expertise.

Now with the 50th anniversary of GenCon coming up, we wanted to have a nice product to sell at the booth that was not only contemporary, but also an homage to what had come before. That's what got us to form the division of Conceptopolis called Jetpack 7, so we could start publishing original material, while also continue to work with our art clients. It's been a great ride and we're very excited.

[h=3]The 7th Edition Guide to Cthulhu Invictus by Golden Goblin Press[/h]
(Campaign Ends : Thursday March 16th 2017; 03:59 UTC)

I’ve always been keen on playing Cthulhu in different historical eras. I’ve had previous editions of Cthulhu Invictus through both Chaosium’s Monograph imprint as well as their own polished and published edition. Oscar Rios’ Golden Goblin Press recently announced they’d signed a licensing agreement with Chaosium to bring not only Cthulhu Invictus to the current 7th Edition version of the rules but also enhance it as a full line of supported products. Thus this campaign for The 7th Edition Guide to Cthulhu Invictus was born.

So, what is Cthulhu Invictus? Well…

Take your Call of Cthulhu game back in time to the Age of the Antonines, The Golden Age of Imperial Rome. Battle sinister cults, unspeakable horrors, and alien gods across the Roman Empire, from the misty shores of Britannia to the bustling markets of the Arabia, deep in the forests of Germania and across the stacks of the Library of Alexandria, from te Pyramids to the Pantheon, from the Colosseum to Hadrian’s Wall, from the trading ports of North Africa to the coast of the Black Sea. Adventure, glory, death, and madness await.

It is a time when nearly two fifths of the Earth’s population lived within the borders of one of the greatest empires in recorded history. At its height, the Roman Empire stretched north to the Germanic territories, east to Asia and Arabia, south to North Africa, and west to Britain and the Iberian Peninsula. Unified by laws and bureaucracies, protected by powerful armies, the citizens of the Empire enjoy the comfort their great civilization provides… while most are mercifully unaware of the terrors lurking all around them.

Few know that permeating every corner of the Empire lies a cosmic horror, a darkness older than the Sphinx and mightier than the Titans. Uncaring beings of incredible power, served by human worshipers and inhuman minions. Wherever their shadows reach corruption, madness and death follows.

But there is hope. Heroes and heroines of the Roman Empire, who somehow learn of the threat and rise up to fight against it. From learned scholars to lowly slaves, from the benches of the senate to beneath the arches of the Colosseum, from the legionary camps of the border provinces to the steamy bath houses of every city, there can be found those willing to give their lives in order to protect mankind. With torch, sword, and mystic arts they battle powers awesome and insidious, forces mysterious and deadly, and with each victory they win, the Empire is preserved another day.

This is Cthulhu Invictus.

[h=3]The Claws of Madness (A Pathfinder Adventure Module) by LoreSmyth[/h]
(Campaign Ends : Thursday 2nd March 2017; 12:02 UTC)

You may recognise The Claws of Madness. This is because a 5th Edition version of the adventure was successfully on kickstarter last year and has been available on DriveThruRPG since late last year. This Kickstarter is to bring out a Pathfinder edition of the adventure.

The Claws of Madness is a standalone adventure carefully designed for a group of 1st-level heroes, including new monsters, magic items, and a thrilling story arc. Edited by Michele Carter (co-editor of the 5th Edition Player’s Handbook), this dungeon crawl combines the best elements of classic adventures with fresh new exciting avenues. The story in this book also provides the perfect base for an epic, long-running campaign suitable for higher-level characters, in which the heroes unravel the dark mystery of the mythical Hand of Narkul.

For centuries, Aelmor Monastery near the port town of Sestone was a safe haven for scholars, monks, and pilgrims seeking enlightenment, its renowned library home to an enormous collection of ancient manuscripts, times, and peculiar writings. After suffering a devastating attack at the hands of a possessed monastery elder, Aelmor fell into ruin, its troubled past forgotten. When villagers start disappearing and turn up horribly mutated days later, fear takes a grip of Sestone. What sinister forces are at work? And to what end? Rumors of a mysterious cursed Hand start to spread…

[h=3]Rotted Capes: Survivor’s Guide, vol 1 by Henry Lopez[/h]
(Campaign Ends : Saturday 4th March 2017; 17:00 UTC)

Paradigm Concepts released the Rotted Capes RPG back in 2013. They followed it up with an adventure called Mind Games and are now raising funds to release Rotted Capes: Survivor’s Guide, vol 1. This will be a 48 page supplement that will introduce new sources of power, archetypes, advantages and powers to this game of super heroes vs zombies. In addition the Survivors Guide will also give you examples of Super Hero Gadgets, lost Super Hero Tech and Artifacts, Superheroic Sorcery and Power Modifications.

For those who might not be familiar with the Rotted Capes RPG copies are available in some of he reward tiers.

The Golden Age of Super Heroes didn’t end with a Bang, but with a BITE!

Rotted Capes puts you in the spandex and cape of the so-called B-List super hero trying to save what’s left of humanity and the remaining pockets of civilization after al the primary super heroes and villains fell to the emerging zombie horde. These A-Lister are now either all dead, missing of Z’d.

Z’d means that your former allies, partners and mentors have been horribly mutated and turned into super powered versions if the Risen Dead. This has propelled them to the top of the new food chain and they’re looking down at you! These Super Zombies would be dangerous enough with just being able to wield their amazing powers, but the change has allowed them to keep a semblance of heir intellect, albeit scrubbed of the ability to distinguish between right and wrong. These Super Zombies are cunning and intelligent, with an overwhelming hunger that impels them to commit foul acts that would leave their former selves aghast.

[h=3]Z-Land Extreme Survival Horror by Rycon Roleplays[/h]
(Campaign Ends : Friday 3rd March 2017; 15:00 UTC)

Z-Land is a game that takes place after the zombie apocalypse has wrecked havoc upon humanity. But it’s not just the zombies which are the problem in Z-Land but Mother Nature herself. Z-Land is a game of survival against harsh odds – with rules for hunger, sleep deprivation and thirst that will slowly weaken your character, wearing them down and pushing them to the limits of what they’ll do to just stay alive.

The other interesting aspect of Z-Land is the setting. Or rather settings as you have a choice as to when the game is set. Three time-frames are available to start your campaign in.

The Last Day – The day the world ended. The day that took you from your ordinary life and threw you into an extraordinary world. The classic scenario is the first of our time frames that will pit average folks against insurmountable odds to see who can truly claim the title of “survivor”.

A Decade On – The ordinary and average folks are long dead, taken in those first few maddened months. Now only the hardened and scarred survivors live on in a world so tantalisingly close to what it was before, but ruined by plague and greed. Human has turned against human while the undead feed on the fringes. Can you survive against the worst and most brutal that humanity has to offer? Can you hope for a better future?

A New Genesis – The undead are no longer the scourge they once were, relegated now to merely another predator on the food-chain. Mankind has settled and began to rebuild, but the world is not what it once was. Nuclear fallout still covers most of the world and there are barely enough plants and animals to survive on in the great deserts and plains of the world. Stories are told of the geen and blue marble the world once was, but that is quickly becoming a myth.

[h=3]Savage Worlds Zombie Squad by Ian Liddle[/h]
(Campaign Ends : Thursday 2nd March 2017; 19:51 UTC)

More zombies??? You might well be thinking after the last two entries, but in this case you’d be wrong. Savage World Zombie Squad doesn’t feature any of the walking dead, in this case the ‘zombie’ is a reference to the ex-Military Criminal Black Ops Units that your character will belong to in this sci-fi game. These Penal Squadrons are sent out on missions either too dangerous or too dirty for Earth’s Military forces.

You are deniable and expendable and expected to accomplish your mission whatever it takes. With the skills and abilities to operate behind enemy lines or undercover on the many planets available to visit in the game.

If you ever wanted a game that mixes Star Wars, Aliens and Firefly and throws in a pinch of the Dirty Dozen and Inglorious Basterds then The Zombie Squad is the game you have been waiting for.

You have been yanked from your cold stone cell on death row and offered the choice to die by firing squad or die redeeming yourself for the good of humanity.

With the worst equipment, the worst missions and a survival rate so low you are termed the walking dead, because officially you are. Your unit designation is Penal Squad 113, but with those death heads on your lapels you are known simply as The Zombie Squad.

The game will feature weird alien tech, derelict ships to explore, cybernetics and killer robots, lost planets and space pirates, with hundreds of worlds and places to travel to.

[h=3]Hood: Swashbuckling Adventures in Sherwood by Fearlight Games[/h]
(Campaign Ends : Friday 3rd March 2017; 14:59 UTC)

I was a backer of Fearlight Games Baker Street: Roleplaying n he World of Sherlock Holmes and now they return to Britain as a setting again, in there new campaign. This time they cast further back into Britain’s fictional past, exploring an old tale made popular through a series of movies and television shows… welcome of Hood: Swashbuckling Adventures in Sherwood.

The game plays up the swashbuckling and theatrical feel, so the game comes across much more along the lines of the old 1938 Adventures of Robin Hood starring Errol Flynn than the classic 80’s TV show Robin of Sherwood or movies such as 1991’s Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, starring Kevin Costner, or Russell Crowe’s 2010 Robin Hood.

A Swashbuckling Stunt system, where you name each and every one of your attacks, defences and actions is featured in the game, along with a Story Pool system, Icon Dice (featuring Robin, Marian and the Sheriff), and a Sherwood Deck, which includes conditions and reference cards that can be used throughout the game.

The Sherwood Deck includes Combat and Story Artifacts cards which are special items that might come into play during fights or available throughout the entire adventure. Clash of Blades cards which are used when a tie occurs in Melee Combat, resulting in a short war of wits. Lastly there are the Reference Cards which help track things such as Wounds or Special Conditions.
