Writer and Designer Alan Bligh Passes Away

It was announced this morning at the Forgeworld seminar at Warhammer Fest that British game designer and author Alan Bligh passed away on Friday 26th May after a brief fight with cancer.


Alan had worked at Games Workshop for 14 years. Working as a key member of the Forge World Studio for over a decade Alan was the lead writer on the Horus Heresy games. His writing not only graced Games Workshop products but he also contributed to a host of Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader and Deathwatch Roleplaying Books from Fantasy Flight Games as well as writing, and co-writing with long time collaborator John French, several Arkham Horror novels. He was a big fan of Call of Cthulhu and wrote a number of books for the game including the recent Pulp Cthulhu for Chaosium and one of the scenarios in Cubicle 7’s anthology Cthulhu Britannica.
