ICv2's Spring 2017 Industry Report: Rankings Stay Steady; Industry Grows Again; Middle Earth Arrives

ICv2 has released its latest survey of Top 5 hobby channel tabletop roleplaying games for the Spring 2017 period. The results are largely similar to previous periods, with D&D, Pathfinder, and Star Wars taking the top three spots as they have since 2014. Shadowrun has dropped from #4 to #5 due to the newly ranking Adventures in Middle Earth from Cubicle 7 (itself, of course, actually a setting book for D&D 5th Edition rather than a full game).

RankTitle
1Dungeons & Dragons (WotC)
2Pathfinder (Paizo)
3Star Wars (FFG)
4Adventures in Middle Earth (Cubicle 7)
5Shadowrun (Catalyst Game Labs)

Also interesting is that the hobby game market has grown from 1.2B to 1.4B over the last period, growing by over 20%. Click here for my compiled chart tracking this over the years. Hasbro's CEO Brian Goldner indicated that D&D is up 50% on last year, and says that millions of viewers follow D&D on Twitch (I suspect he may be citing total views, not unique viewers there).

As always, these rankings are determined from interviews with hobby games retailers, manufacturers, and distributors.

Did you think all movies have some think about more players ...
Like more Star Wars movies and get more players of rpg star wars.
But with all movies of Marvel Super-Heros ,why have not more players of rpg Marvel ? .
