If you have anything you’d like us to cover, or questions about anything we talk about, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment or contact me directly.

Modern Adventures Tabletop RPG by Raymond
(Campaign Ends : Monday 25th September 2017; 18:00 UTC)

I really think Raymond should have called this campaign Pathfinder Modern Adventures as it would have attracted more attention straight away. And the campaign deserves attention as I’ve been lucky enough to see some preview artwork, which isn’t on the campaign page, and he’s done a really good job assembling some great atmospheric art for this gritty fantasy game set in modern-day Earth.

Pathfinder: Modern Adventures is a game of fantasy based in the real-world. It's Earth, with a twist. Humans are not alone. There are elves, gnomes, dwarves and all manner of other strange creatures, hybrids and half-bloods earning a living and trying to get by. Nearly everyone just wants a comfortable, safe life where they are free to exist in peace, earn a liveable wage and die with a few grandchildren under foot.

Then, there are the adventurers.

The adventurers make their living by scouring the lands trying to find old tombs, abandoned catacombs and places lost to time. They battle monsters, brave dangerous traps and explore the unknown. Some do it in the hopes of getting rich. Others do it to earn a name. Some simply want to test their own mettle. Adventurer's leave the relative safety of the lives they know, working jobs, tending their home or living on the streets in order to explore parts of the world that no sane person would ever enter.

From the veil of the city, you might never see the truth of the world beyond. All the magic and monsters that only rarely creep into the cities themselves are waiting for a brave soul to come and face them, and earn vast richest and fame in so doing.

Imagine looking out your window and seeing the same world, only a little different. At first, the differences are barely noticeable. A bigger garden in the yard across the street. A strange statue by your neighbor's door. A brilliantly woven lattice that climbs up the side of the house down the road. But then, it gets a bit more strange as you start to notice that there is an elf and a halfling jogging down your street at 7:00 am. That's the Jones family and even though most folks disagree with their choice of partner, everyone still tries to keep up with them. The cashier at your local Kmart has green skin and tusks because one of his parents was a troll. He's no different than the rest of us, just trying to make a living and be happy with his lot in life. Maybe he'll make that management position he's been after for almost a year now, if the manager would stop looking at him like some kind of savage.

Modern Adventures is about the world you know, askew. The game brings fantasy into reality and mixes the two together into a game that has a thick accent of realism underlining the pronounced fantasy themes. Magic is real, and so are dragons and monsters. The lands of fantasy, of ancient wizards, knights and tomes are long gone now, but their remnants remain. They wait for you to explore them, to delve their depths and reveal their mysteries and acquire their riches. Adventure awaits if you have what it takes to leave the safety of your normal life behind.

In Modern Adventures, you'll take up the life of an adventurer, leaving the relative safety of normal life behind to take on monsters, explore dungeons, tombs and lost ruins, discover secrets and seek treasure.

Alien Bestiary for 5E, Starfinder, and Pathfinder RPG by Legendary Games
(Campaign Ends : Sunday 1st October 2017; 04:59 UTC)
In space, maybe no one else can hear you scream, but those cries of terror are music to the GM's ears. While there are monster books aplenty for fantasy games, there has never been a truly encyclopedic tome of terrors from beyond the stars... until now!

Legendary Games have been bringing out some cracking books recently and their Alien Bestiary looks to follow the trend. The book is more than 200 pages featuring nearly 300 creatures for 5E, Starfinder and Pathfinder sci-fi adventures.

The Alien Bestiary is a full-sized, full colour, bestiary that features aliens great and small… tiny robot walking eyes to Lovecraftian Great Old Ones, friends and foes, humanoid and inhuman. Plus the campaign has some fantastic stretch goals which unlock new books such as the Alien Codex, Aethera Alien Field Guide and even Alien Bestiary 2 is the campaign does fantastically well!

The art that has been previewed looks fantastic and I really think that this Alien bestiary will be a great resource for Starfinder and other sci-fi games. Check it out!

All for One: Satan’s Playground by Triple Ace Games Ltd
(Campaign Ends : Thursday 14th September 2017; 22:59 UTC)

Satan’s Playground is a supplement for the Ubiquity-powered All For One: Regime Diabolique RPG that looks at the Thirty Years Wars…. With a supernatural twist.

War is hell, and the Thirty Years' War was worse than most. Germany (and neighboring lands) was ripped apart by the war. The fighting between armies was bad enough, but decades of conflict brought with it widespread famine and disease, economic strife, witch hunts, and marauding armies looking for food and loot in equal measure. In Satan's Playground, the war is made worse by the machinations of two demon lords fighting to earn the favor of Satan and become infernal ambassador to the Holy Roman Empire.

Marauding armies, cruel mercenaries, Satanic cults, starving peasants who will sink their teeth into anything edible, and twisted fiends from hell are not the only dangers heroes will face - in Satan's Playground, starvation and pestilence play a major role.

As with All for One: Regime Diabolique, Satan's Playground is set in an alternate history in which the supernatural is very real to the inhabitants and historical events have been tweaked to suit the needs of the setting.

Robert Asprin’s The Cold Cash War by Battlefield Press Inc
(Campaign Ends : Thursday 5th October 2017; 15:00 UTC)

Robert Asprin is probably best known for his Myth Adventures series, Phule’s Company or the Thieves World shared universe anthologies, but he wrote dozens of sci-fi and fantasy books and Battlefield Press have gone right back to the start of his career for this Savage Worlds and Cephus System setting. The Cold Cash War was his first published novel in 1977 which also spawned a ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ style sequel, Cold Cash Warrior, in 1989.

International conglomerates plot a complete domination of the free world, facing off against world governments, who want only freedom, in a calculated and vicious battle of wits and blood. Come see multi-national corporations have launched a lethal campaign against the world.

For the first time ever, a role playing game setting based on the original works of Robert Asprin and Bill Fawcett. This setting book incorporates the novel Cold Cash War and the Combat Command book Cold Cash Warrior.

Have you ever wondered how corporations fight each other? The answer is simple, they employ mercenaries in remote locations to wipe out each other. This is no easy task, but luckily the wars are conducted with advanced electronics known as killsuits. These suits simulate the damage taken by a soldier from nonoperational limbs to death, without actually hurting or killing the individual soldier. However, what happens when someone takes this one step further and starts employing mercenaries to take out your rivals, permanently? In this setting you play a a government agent, mercenary hired by a corporation, an information broker or a corporate executive. Get involved in corporate espionage, assassination or even stomping the enemy. Be a part of Oil, Energy or even a Japanese corporation. If you do not want to be a corporate drone, then side up with one of the world governments. Its your choice, and the world depends on what you do.Find out in this 250-page book for the Savage Worlds and Cepheus Engine (2d6 OGL Sci Fi gaming) game systems. Written by Stephen J. Miller and Jonathan M. Thompson (the team that brought you Gaslight Victorian Fantasy) and illustrated by the talented Eric Lofgren

I don't quite get the Adventure mats. They have a fabric surface so you cannot write on them. They are a very specific floorplan so have limited re-usability than say a generic modular encounter map (forest road or hilly region). The surface area is 1'x2'. There are already other options out there more flexible, cheaper, and bigger.
