The Complete Trog
Shadowrun Supplement
By Catalyst Game Labs

Big, Bad and Awesome

They can call you a trog. Sure they can. Let ’em think it’s smear. Let them show you what they don’t know. The Complete Trog is the definitive guide for ork and troll characters in Shadowrun. With information on what it’s like to be an ork or troll in dozens of spots across the globe, details on working in corps as a trog (including in ork- and troll-dominated corps) and the heroes and enemies of trog culture, the book helps players add flavor and depth to their characters and the world around them. On top of that, it has gear, qualities, and life modules compatible with both Shadowrun, Fifth Edition and Shadowrun: Anarchy. Technical Readout – Succession Wars
Battletech Sourcebook
By Catalyst Game Labs

KING OF THE BATTLEFIELD

On February 5, 2439, the Mackie obliterated all opposition during its first combat trial, ushering in a new era of warfare. The BattleMech—King of the Battlefield—was born. BattleMechs reached their pinnacle during the golden age of the Star League. The fall of the Star League and the Succession Wars that raged for centuries afterward took their toll and by the Fourth Succession War, the technology employed on the battlefields was a mere shadow of what it once was. Technical Readout: Succession Wars is the perfect “first Technical Readout” companion to the BattleMech Manual. Combining the ’Mechs previously found in Technical Readout: 3039, Technical Readout: 3050 Upgrade, Technical Readout: 3058 Upgrade, and Technical Readout: 3075, this volume features some of the most common ’Mechs from the Age of War to the Succession Wars. Each machine is illustrated in detail, and accompanied by a description of its history, capabilities, game stats, along with their most famous pilots.

Note: This is a compilation volume. The entries in this book are reprinted from Technical Readout: 3039, Technical Readout: 3050 Upgrade, Technical Readout: 3058 Upgrade, and Technical Readout: 3075. Escape from the Jade Colossus
Numenera Adventure
By Monte Cook Games

Trapped in a prior-world ruin!

Five years ago, a hidden prior-world installation woke up after aeons of somnolence. The night of its awakening, the land screamed and shuddered. After the tremors subsided and the day crept back, something enormous was revealed: a massive new structure, many miles in diameter, had burst up through the ground. It had been expelled to the world’s surface—or did it move under its own power?
A dangerous contagion in Ballarad has led the PCs into the Jade Colossus, where the healer Gerob knows of key ingredients to a cure. But when a collapse blocks their escape route, can the players find their way out of the massive structure? And when Gerob becomes more a liability than an ally, is there any hope of bringing the cure to the stricken city?
Escape from the Jade Colossus was the official Numenera adventure for Gen Con 2017. It begins in media res and includes pregenerated characters, making it perfect for one-shot use—but it also introduces the massive structure detailed in Jade Colossus: Ruins of the Prior Worlds, and is easily adapted into campaign play.

Note: The total page count of 30 pages includes the 17-page adventure, plus 6 double-sided pre-generated characters.

Massive Darkness
1-6 players, ages 14+, 90-180+ minutes
By CMON/Guillotine Games

Massive Darkness brings the classic fantasy RPG experience to modern board gaming, with an action-packed campaign chock full of gorgeous miniatures and a streamlined system that keeps the focus on the heroes' actions, with no need for a game master to control the enemies.

Using the popular Zombicide system as a starting point, Massive Darkness adds all the richness of a dungeon crawl RPG. Pick your hero, choose a class, decide on which skills to spend your XP, and get loot by searching the dungeon or killing special enemies that can use the equipment against you! Face a multitude of different enemy types, coming in all shapes and sizes, whose behavior is resolved automatically...or you can try to sneak around enemies by taking advantage of dark areas of the map.

Players begin their adventure in Massive Darkness by picking a Hero – each with two special starting skills – and pair them with a Class of their choosing. Depending on the combination, another skill can be unlocked, giving players a wide range of choices and play styles. In Massive Darkness, the created Heroes go on Quests, killing monsters, collecting loot, and gaining XP. Players spend their XP to unlock new Skills, growing more powerful as the Quest progresses.

Throughout the game, players encounter different monsters, including Minions, Agents, Roaming Monsters, and Bosses. An unique mechanism of the game is the Guardian. Any of the monster types have a chance of spawning as a Guardian, meaning it will use a random piece of equipment in the fight against Heroes. However, if players are able to overcome this difficult encounter, they will acquire that piece of loot!

Wartime: The Battle of Valyance Vale
2 players, 10+ minutes
By WizKids

Valyance and Firebrand have gone to war! Units clash in the skirmishes, but the fight is gritty, with little time to think and plan as sand timers dictate the activation of your units. When a unit moves, attacks, cast spells, or uses a special ability in Wartime: The Battle of Valyance Vale, a sand timer is flipped. The unit cannot be used again until the sand timer is drained, then that sand timer (or another one) can be used to activate the unit again. Manage your sand timers, as well as your unit actions, wisely. Sand timers come in different times: 30 seconds, 60 seconds, 90 seconds. Scenarios use other timers in time-sensitive missions.

Wartime: The Battle of Valyance Vale features scenario-based play, with branching missions depending on the outcome of the previous mission. Configure your own units to fight in player-designed missions or mix up the unit configurations when playing the game's missions.

Gateway: Uprising
2-4 players, ages 13+, 45-60+ minutes
By CMON

Players of the deck-building card game Gateway: Uprising take on the roles of insurgent wizards determined to reclaim the Great City of Gateway.

Each player begins with the game with the same starter resources of basic insurgent wizards, merchants, and a magical Runestone - but from there the similarities end. Players will draft new wizards, heroes, and magical creatures into their ranks, building up an army to defeat and defend the different districts of Gateway.

After successfully liberating a district, the player gains access to its unusual power, such as cheaper resources, additional defenses, or even the ability to magically damage foes from afar. Be warned: Not only will other rebel insurgents attempt to steal your districts away from you, but you'll also have to battle against the forces of Chancellor Gideon and an invading onslaught of terrible monsters called the Drueggar.

To aid you in this are Runestones - powerful one-time-use spells that can turn the tide of battle instantly or provide the player with a temporary boost to his coffers. However, once used, Runestones become empty shells and are discarded for the remainder of the game.

To win the game, players must collect victory points by defeating the city guard and Drueggar Horde, controlling important districts, or through special insurgent abilities they draft into their ranks. Don't delay and play the waiting game -- if the Drueggar manage to take all the city districts, it’s game over for both the insurgents and the innocent citizens of Gateway!

Pairs: Deluxe Edition
2-8 players, ages 12+, 15+ minutes
By Cheapass Games

Pairs is the name of the game, and pairs of cards are what players want to avoid.
The game uses a 55-card deck that contains one 1, two 2s, three 3s, and so on up to ten 10s. At the start of the game, shuffle the deck, then remove five cards from play unseen. Deal one card face-up to each player.

Whoever has the lowest card is the first active player. She decides whether to "hit" — that is, be dealt another card — or forfeit the round. If she hits and is dealt a card that doesn't match a card she already has in front of her, then the next player clockwise becomes the active player; if the card does match, then the round ends, she keeps one of these matching cards as penalty points, then everyone else discards their cards and a new round begins with each player being dealt a card.

If the active player forfeits, the round ends and she takes the lowest-valued card visible on the table as penalty points, then a new round begins. Penalty cards remain set aside, even if the deck is shuffled to continue play. If a player acquires more penalty points than the predetermined threshold, then the game ends and this player loses. (Alternatively, players can use coins to track scores between games, with the loser paying everyone one coin, paying her score in coins to the player with the lowest score, etc.)

There are many versions of Pairs from Cheapass Games. The base game play is identical, but the artwork (and artist) vary across the versions. Some include special game rules relevant to the theme of the deck. In general, you can find new/experimental/user-submitted rules at the Cheapass website, and many non-English versions of Pairs also include rules for additional games to play with this deck.

Dead Last
6-12 players, ages 14+, 10-90+ minutes
By Smirk & Dagger

Stay alive, gain a fortune...

Dead Last — originally known as Tontine — is a "social collusion" game of shifting alliances, betrayals, and murder for profit in which players must conspire and vote upon whom to kill each round. Any means of overt or covert communication is allowed — a glance, a nod, pointing under the table, flashing a card, anything – but make sure you don't tip off the target or they could ambush you instead! In the end, one or two players will remain, either claiming all the gold or squaring off in a final showdown before starting the next round of play. The first player to score 24 points of gold wins.

Thematically, the inspiration for the game is one of the oldest pulp fiction/detective novel tropes: the Tontine, a financial investment that accrues, but pays out only to the last surviving member of the group. This practice is now largely illegal as it famously had the tendency to lead to murder.

But it is the subtle art of communication that delivers the fun of the game and you conspire with each other. If you are the target of the most votes, you're dead, and if you did not side with the popular vote, you are also dead, so you constantly have to stay informed or deceive your target to band together without letting the target know. Wink, smile, kill — that's the whole game. As soon as someone asks, "Hey, wanna play Dead Last?", the game has already begun — and if you don't know who the target is, it very well could be you...

In Atari’s Centipede, 2 or 4 players venture into the world of the classic Atari arcade game. On one side, a Player controls the Gnome, exploring the forest and trying to defeat the Centipede.

On the other side, the Centipede player, eager to destroy the Gnome, must wiggle their way to the other end of the board.

The Gnome Player rolls and spends their dice to perform actions, while the Centipede Player uses a deck of cards to spawn Fleas, Spiders and Mushrooms, trying to control the game board.

The first Player to eliminate their opponent wins the game!

Glass Road 2nd Edition
1-4 players, ages 12+, 20-80+ minutes
By Mayfair Games

Glass Road leads you into the Bavarian Forest of the 18th century. With two Production wheels at your disposal, you will be tasked with the production of glass and bricks as well as managing other resources. You will need to develop your very own landscape and build upon it a variety of buildings that will grant you many benefits. At the heart of the game is your set of 15 specialists, of which you will only use 5 during each of the game's building periods. But it is not as simple as that, for your opponents also have access to the same cards, and if one of them plays a card you've chosen, your options will be reduced drastically. In this game about glass making, flexibility will be your best asset to seize victory!

By Mercury Games

An app-assisted card game!

That doesn't mean your game is over as the undead can rise again and win by infecting the most Stragglers! Zombie Slam is played over four rounds with all players acting simultaneously. Each round consists of 10 turns.

There is also an optional smart device app to guide the play, which also turns Zombie Slam into a movie-like experience!

Codex: Adeptus Mechanicus
Warhammer 40,000 Supplement
By Games Workshop

The Adeptus Mechanicus are the keepers and manufacturers of technology for the Imperium of Mankind. It is a role they guard jealously, using their own standing armies, engines of war and god-machines. It is within their power to unleash the most arcane weaponry in the Imperium, and they do so without mercy. Grim processions of soldiers stride in perfect unison, each one a disturbing fusion of man and machine. Behind them stomp soulless automata, and towering over them are enormous walkers. An Adeptus Mechnicus army marching to war is a sight both terrifying and glorious.

Codex: Adeptus Mechanicus contains a wealth of background material and rules. This 104 page book is the definitive book for Adeptus Mechanicus collectors.

A Clash of Eagles
Black Powder Supplement
By Warlord Games

Re-create epic moments of the 1812 campaign: the battles of Smolensk and Borodino, the numerous smaller affairs involving Napoleon’s allies and the long, protracted retreat from Russia culminating in the crossing of the Berezina, all of which left the Grand Armée reduced to a shadow of its former self.

Within the pages you will discover how Napoleonic armies fought differently from preceding Black Powder armies; including background detail focusing on the campaign, the numerous nations that took part in the campaign, as well as their armies and statistics on over a hundred different troop types.

You will find information on how to reflect Napoleonic battles using the Black Powder rules as well as a few new rules that are pretty standard among wargames communities across the globe.

Running alongside this you will encounter numerous national characteristics for France, Russia, Austria and Prussia to name a few, that will give your gaming experience more of a Napoleonic feel.

Triumph of the Will: Nazi Germany vs Imperial Japan, 1948
1-2 players, ages 12+, 60-900+ minutes
By Compass Games

This game allows two players to game an alternate history where Germany and Japan have won WWII. Three years after that victory in 1948 they square off against each other for a final battle for world domination. The map of the game joins along the equator to depict the entire world.

Game mechanics recreate dilemmas and challenges inherent in grand-strategic warfare and the issues involved with controlling the entire planet. Movement switches rapidly back and forth between players keeping you fully involved in the game with no long waits between players. In any order you want, you can: enter reinforcements; bring back into play previously eliminated units; move an army, air force, fleet or elite corps on the map via land, sea or air; launch a conventional attack or launch a nuclear attack. Both conventional and nuclear attack options are available to players.

Modern War #32: Operation Musketeer, Suez 1956
Magazine + Wargame
By Strategy & Tactics Press

Operation Musketeer is a wargame based on the assumption that the 1956 Anglo-French-Israeli invasion of Egypt turned into a major superpower confrontation in which the forces of the Soviet Union and United States became involved. Historically, the invasion was ended because both the USSR and USA opposed the Allied invasion. But, the assumption here is that, instead, both Moscow and Washington were drawn into the conflict and deployed combat forces to support their respective camp. The game system emphasizes command control. Each side is composed of different contingents. Players activate their contingents through the use of Command markers. This models the historical command-control factors involved in multi-national operations during the 1950s. Players command ground and air forces, and there is the possibility of nuclear war breaking out. There are two players: the Allies (including France, Britain, Israel and the US); and the East Bloc (Egypt, USSR).

Components: One 22" x 34" map on one sheet & 228 counters
